If you have your own 5G-ready device, you can also access 5G coverage on a Sky Mobile SIM card from £7/month. Normally, it’ll cost you an extra £5/month to get 5G on Sky Mobile but you can get it for free when you sign up to Sky VIP (free to join).

When you buy a 5G phone from Sky Mobile, you’ll be able to roll over your unused data for up to 3 years in your Sky Piggybank. You’ll also get unlimited streaming through Sky TV apps without using your normal data allowance. This covers Sky+, Sky Go and 8 other Sky TV mobile applications.

5G SIM Only Deals
If you already have a 5G smartphone that you want to use on Sky Mobile, you can get a 5G-ready SIM-only deal from £7/month.
When you buy a Sky Mobile SIM-only deal, you’ll get inclusive access to 5G coverage when you sign up for the Sky VIP loyalty programme (free to join). Otherwise, it’ll cost you an extra £5/month to add 5G coverage, with the first month available for free.
As with the 5G phone deals from Sky Mobile, you’ll also be able to rollover your unused data on a Sky Mobile SIM card. The unlimited streaming through Sky TV apps without using your data allowance is also available on Sky Mobile SIM-only deals.

5G Download Speeds
On Sky Mobile’s 5G network, you can access average download speeds of around 150Mbps. This is about six times faster than Sky’s 4G mobile network. You’ll also benefit from greater network capacity and lower amounts of latency when using 5G.
In some cases, you might be able to access peak download speeds of up to 1,000Mbps (1Gbps) on Sky Mobile’s 5G network.
5G Network Bands
The 5G coverage on Sky Mobile uses band n78 spectrum (3500MHz). If you’re buying a mobile phone from outside the UK, you should ensure it supports 5G coverage in this band.
Sky Mobile also offers 99% population coverage, which is provided by O2. Their UK coverage uses the following bands and frequencies:
