In the UK, Sky currently offers the Sky Kids pack as an optional add-on for customers taking the Sky Stream box or Sky Glass TV.
Sky Kids gives you 9 additional kids TV channels for an extra £6 per month on a 31-day rolling basis. You’ll also get the Sky Kids app for games and on-demand shows that you can watch on a smartphone or tablet.

Sky Kids Channels
If you’re getting either the Sky Stream box or Sky Glass TV in the UK, you’ll be given an option to add Sky Kids for an extra £6 per month.
The Sky Kids pack gives you access to the dedicated ‘Sky Kids’ channel. This is a new 24-hour ad-free channel for children between the ages of 1 and 7. It features Sky’s original children’s TV series such as My Friend Misty (scripted and produced by Fearne Cotton), along with franchise favourites including Trolls: TrollsTopia (5+), Where’s Wally (5+), Madagascar a Little Wild (5+), LEGO (1+), and Clifford The Big Red Dog (3+).
Alongside this, you’ll get the following children’s TV channels included with the Pack:

There’s also the Sky Kids app for iPhone, iPad and Android devices. This gives you on-demand access to more than 10,000 children’s TV episodes, along with 230 children’s mobile games. The app is designed to be a child-safe environment so you can create a personalised profile for each child, giving them access only to the content that’s suitable for them.
What’s Already Included with Sky Entertainment?
It’s worth noting that you’ll already get some kids-friendly content with the Sky Entertainment & Netflix pack. For this reason, it may not always be necessary to pay extra to get Sky Kids.

In addition, you’ll have an inclusive Netflix subscription that gives you access to lots of on-demand content for kids. This includes shows such as Cocomelon, Peppa Pig, Paw Patrol, Alvin and the Chipmunks, The Adventures of Paddington, and more.
Is Sky Kids Worth It?
It really depends on what you’d like to watch.
In our opinion, there’s already plenty of good children’s TV on the free-to-air channels such as CBBC, CBeebies, CiTV and POP. If you’re mainly watching shows like Hey Duggee, Bluey, Bing and Numberblocks, you’ll be fine with the basic Sky Entertainment pack. There’s also plenty of kids content to watch on the inclusive Netflix subscription.
If you do upgrade to Sky Kids, you’ll get access to some additional channels including the Sky Kids channel, Nickelodeon and Baby TV. Certain shows like Spongebob Squarepants and My Friend Misty are only available to watch if you subscribe to these channels. On the other hand, you already have access to shows like Peppa Pig and Paw Patrol through your Netflix subscription, so adding Nickelodeon through Sky Kids is just doubling up on what you have already.
It’s worth noting that you’ll no longer get any content from Disney on the Sky Kids service. That’s because Disney have moved all of their content over to their own Disney+ service. In addition, you won’t get children’s movies on Sky Kids as these will normally come under the Sky Cinema service instead.
One bit of good news is the fact that Sky Kids is available on a flexible 31-day rolling contract. This means you can easily add it or remove it at any time. It gives you the opportunity to try out Sky Kids and to see whether it’s actually worth having this extra. In addition, you can choose to only have Sky Kids at certain times of the year (e.g. during the summer holiday when your kids are at home).
Sky TV Deals with Sky Kids
To get Sky Kids, you’ll need to start off getting either the Sky Stream box or the Sky Glass TV.
At present, you can get the basic Sky Entertainment & Netflix pack on the Sky Stream box from £19 per month (on an 18-month contract). You’ll then be able to get Sky Kids for an extra £6 per month on top of this.

If you want a Sky Glass television, add an extra £14 per month (Small 43″), £19 per month (Medium 55″) or £24 per month (Large 65″) to the prices shown above. You can build your own Sky Glass package on Sky’s website.
For extra savings, consider taking Sky Broadband together with Sky TV. At present, it’s possible to get a combined package from £37 per month with broadband and TV (plus an extra £6 per month for the Sky Kids pack).
