Sky Stream Only
As of December 2024, there are now two different television plans to choose from on Sky Stream:
- Essential TV is available from £15 per month. You’ll get Sky Atlantic, Netflix Standard with Ads, and Discovery+ Standard included on this plan. You won’t get Sky’s other entertainment channels such as Sky Max, Sky Comedy, or Sky Witness.
- Ultimate TV is available from £22 per month. It comes with the full range of Sky Entertainment channels, along with some other premium TV channels like National Geographic. This is on top of everything that’s included in Essential TV.

If you’re looking for a bit more flexibility, it’s also possible to get Sky Stream on a 31-day rolling contract. You’ll need to pay a little bit more for this flexibility, with prices starting from £18 per month when you choose a 31-day plan.

Whichever plan you choose, you’ll get the Netflix ‘Standard with Ads’ plan included (worth £4.99 per month), along with Discovery+ Standard (worth £6.99 per month) included. The base Essential TV plan comes with approximately 100 channels in total, including Sky Atlantic and 90+ free-to-air channels. On top of this, there are another 42 “premium” channels included if you choose Ultimate TV.
Sky Stream with Sky Broadband
To use Sky Stream, you’ll need to have a fibre broadband connection with a download speed of at least 25Mbps. Sky Stream works on any UK-based broadband provider, so it’s absolutely fine if your broadband internet comes from another company (such as BT, Virgin Media or TalkTalk).
If you’re in the market for a new fibre broadband provider, it’s often cheaper to take Sky Broadband together with Sky Stream. For instance, you can get Sky Stream with Sky Broadband for a combined price of just £39 per month. Given you’re probably paying close to £30 per month for broadband elsewhere, this can represent a fairly large saving.

Stream over WiFi
With Sky Stream, everything is streamed to your TV using WiFi. This means there’s no need to have a satellite dish, and there’s no need for an engineer visit to set it up.
Once you’ve placed your Sky Stream order, the box will be delivered to you on the next working day. You then simply need to plug it in to your TV and connect it to your WiFi network to start watching TV.
You’ll need a Wi-Fi connection with a minimum download speed of 25Mbps to use Sky Stream.

- Netflix (worth £4.99 per month): There’s a Netflix ‘Standard with Ads’ subscription included in the price of your Sky Stream service. This allows you to stream more than 7,000 shows and movies on-demand in HD, including the latest Netflix Originals.
- Discovery+ (worth £6.99 per month): As a Sky Stream customer, you’ll also get a Discovery+ Standard subscription at no extra cost. This gives you access to a range of box sets, documentaries, reality TV shows and Eurosport.
If you’re a Sky Cinema customer, you’ll also get Paramount+ at no extra cost (worth £6.99 per month). This gives you access to a mountain of entertainment including Paramount+ originals like Yellowstone and Star Trek: Strange New Worlds.
Playlists & Recommendations

Smart Search
The Smart Search feature on Sky Stream works across all of your live TV channels and on-demand streaming TV services.
With Smart Search, you can simply say the name of the show you’d like to watch, a genre, or a specific actor from the show. It will then search across all of your connected channels and apps, allowing you to find the show wherever it is.
Flexible Plans
You can choose between an 24-month contract and a 31-day rolling contract on Sky Stream. Most customers choose the 24-month plan as this gives you the lowest possible price. However, the 31-day contract is a good alternative if you need the extra flexibility (e.g. if you’re looking to move home in the near future).
To start off, you’ll need to choose your base TV plan, which can be either Essential TV or Ultimate TV. Once you’ve chosen this base plan, there are a range of optional add-ons available including Sky Sports, Sky Cinema, TNT Sports, Sky Kids, and the Ultra HD & Dolby Atmos pack. You can add or remove these packs on a 31-day rolling basis. There are also discounted 24-month plans available for Sky Cinema and Sky Sports.
If you’d like to watch Sky TV in another room at the same time, you can get the Sky Whole Home add-on. This is available for £12 per month on a 31-day rolling contract. It includes your first Sky Stream Puck for free (worth £39.95).
Sky Glass TV
If you’re looking to upgrade your TV viewing experience, you can get the Sky Glass TV. This is a 4K Ultra HD television with Sky Inside so there’s no need to have a separate Sky Stream box if you’re using a Sky Glass TV.
One of the highlights of Sky Glass is the built-in soundbar that delivers up to 215W of Dolby Atmos surround sound. This puts you right in the middle of the action, whether you’re watching the latest movies or live sports on your TV. Many thanks for your comment. No, the Ultra HD package only applies to Sky Entertainment, Sky Sports and Sky Cinema content. For Netflix, Disney+ and other content providers, you’ll be able to watch Ultra HD content if your subscription to the relevant service includes it. More info here.

1. If you’re a Sky Q customer, you can move over to Sky Stream at any time. However, the deals listed on this page are for new customers only. I believe you’ll see a different range of deals when you log in to your account.
2. Apologies: that was a typo on my part – sorry about that! It should be £41pm for Sky Stream with Ultrafast, and £67pm with Ultrafast Plus.

Thanks for your comment. At the time of writing, it’ll cost £10 per month to add Sky’s Whole Home service (reduced from the normal price of £12 per month). You’ll get an additional Sky Stream box included in that price, and then it’s a further £39.95 for each additional box.
Therefore, if you want two extra boxes, you’ll pay £10/month plus an upfront fee of £39.95 for the second box.
