In the UK, Virgin Media currently offers M125 fibre broadband from £26.99 per month. You’ll get an average download speed of 132Mbps, which is enough for streaming 4K (ultra-HD) video on up to five devices at the same time. You’ll also benefit from an average upload speed of 20Mbps.

What is M125 Fibre Broadband?

In the UK, M125 fibre broadband is Virgin Media’s most popular fibre broadband plan. It offers an average download speed of 132Mbps – around twice the speed of the UK’s average broadband connection. You’ll also benefit from an average upload speed of 20Mbps on the plan.

In our opinion, the M125 fibre broadband plan is a good choice for most UK households. It will allow you to stream ultra-HD video on up to 5 devices at the same time (increasing up to 25 devices if you’re streaming in HD quality). In addition, you’ll be able to download a full-HD quality movie in around 4 minutes, or the latest console game (for your Xbox or PlayStation) in about 45 minutes.

M125 Broadband Add-Ons

Alongside your M125 fibre broadband plan, there’s an optional home phone and cable TV service that you can add to your plan. Alternatively, if you don’t need Virgin’s full TV service, there’s Virgin Media Stream which is available for a one-off activation fee of £35.

If you add an O2 Pay Monthly mobile SIM card to your plan, you’ll get Volt customer benefits such as Intelligent WiFi Plus with a Superstrong WiFi Guarantee. This will connect to Virgin Media’s cable network and will producing a Wi-Fi network from it that your other devices are able to connect to. The Hub 3 router supports Wi-Fi 5 technology and has an Intelligent WiFi feature for automatic channel optimisation.

M100 Fibre Broadband

Prior to the 1st November 2022, Virgin Media offered a M100 Fibre Broadband plan. This had an average download speed of 108Mbps and an average upload speed of 10Mbps. As of the 1st November 2022, both new and existing Virgin Media customers will get an upgrade to the new M125 Fibre Broadband plan at no extra cost.

      Alternatives to M125 Fibre

      The download speeds on M125 fibre broadband are around twice as fast as the most widely-available plans from BT, Sky and other rival providers. Despite this, you’ll pay a very similar price for the service.
