What is Sky Glass?

In the UK, Sky Glass is the new internet-connected TV from Sky. It gives you access to your channels and apps through an internet connection. This means there’s no need to have an aerial or satellite dish.

To use Sky Glass, you’ll need a home broadband connection with a minimum download speed of 25Mbps. There’s no need to be a Sky Broadband customer: you can use Sky Glass with any UK broadband provider.

One disadvantage of that is the fact that you’re solely reliant on your broadband connection. This means any disruption to your broadband service will also affect your ability to watch TV. In addition, there can be a delay of up to 45 seconds compared to the original live broadcast. This can sometimes be problematic when you’re watching live sports. In addition, there are still a number of channels missing, compared to Sky’s satellite TV service.

For more information, you can compare Sky Glass and Sky Q.

Sky glass is certainly different from Q I was beginning to think I’d made a big mistake especially with no recording but after about a week I started getting use to it and finding how to add all my favourite shows to a list or even a personalised list and found I could add more of what I like and it even saves future episodes to your list so I’m glad to have it now

  • you’re not alone if Sky Glass turned out to be a total disappointment. I can’t wait to get out of this contract. Total waste of money.
