The most suitable plan for you will depend on how much data you require:

  • If you’re a light user, you can get 5GB data for £1.29 or 10GB data for £1.49. Both of these plans offer exceptional value, with a discounted price for the first 3 months. You’ll also get an allowance of UK minutes included, along with unlimited UK texts and 50 international minutes.
  • For most users, we’d recommend getting 15GB data for £1.80 or 20GB data for £2.39. According to Ofcom (2023 data), the average UK mobile user consumes about 8GB data per month. Therefore, this should be ample for most users.
  • If you’re a heavy user, you can get 30GB data for £5.99 or unlimited data for £9.99. On these deals, you’ll benefit from a discounted price for the first 6 months. Alternatively, there’s 88GB data for £8 and 200GB data for £9.99. This is a discounted price for the first 12 months.

These SIM-only deals from Lyca Mobile are available on a Pay As You Go basis, so there’s no contract and no credit check required. That means you can change or cancel your plan at any time.

Lyca Mobile Features

No Contract & No Credit Check

These Lyca Mobile deals are available on a Pay As You Go basis so there’s no contract and no credit check required when you sign up. You’ll just pay for one month’s usage at a time, in the same way you’d pay for other subscriptions like Spotify and Netflix.

On Lyca Mobile, you’ll also have the flexibility to change or cancel your plan at any time. For instance, you can downgrade to a cheaper plan to save money, or you can upgrade your plan to get more data.

Another benefit of this being a Pay As You Go service is the fact there’s no chance of running up unexpected charges on your bill. That’s because your monthly payment is capped by default. If you’d like to make any out-of-allowance calls on your SIM card, you’ll need to add some additional Pay As You Go credit to your account.

4G & 5G Coverage From EE

On Lyca Mobile, you’ll have access to 4G and 5G coverage from EE. This means you’ll have 99% UK population coverage from EE’s 4G network, plus 5G coverage in more than 1,000 UK towns and cities (if you’re using a 5G-ready device).

If you’d like to check the coverage in your area before ordering a SIM card, you can do this by entering your postcode on Lyca Mobile’s online coverage map.

Lyca Mobile’s 5G network is compatible with both iPhone and Android devices. If you’re using an iPhone, you’ll need the iOS 16.4 update to use 5G on Lyca Mobile.

  5. Canada

The 45p and 99p plans come with 50 international minutes per month. Most of the other plans come with 100 international minutes each month. Lyca Mobile also offers All in One plans from £9.90 per month. These come with a larger allowance of international minutes and are perfect if you’re looking to call abroad more regularly.

European Roaming

Many other UK mobile networks now charge you up to £2.29 per day for using your phone in Europe.

In contrast, Lyca Mobile offers EU roaming at no extra cost on all of their plans. This means you can use your plan allowances at no extra cost in 30 European destinations. This is subject to a fair use limit of 2000 minutes, 2000 texts and 12GB data per month (or 35GB data per month if you’re on Lyca Mobile’s unlimited data plan).

In addition to the EU roaming that’s available on all Lyca Mobile plans, there’s also a range of AloTurka plans that give you inclusive roaming in Turkey.

eSIM

If you’re looking for a faster way to get connected, Lyca Mobile now offers eSIM capability on their plans.

With eSIM, there’s no need to wait for a physical SIM card to arrive in the post. Instead, you simply need to scan a QR code on your eSIM-ready phone. You’re then connected and you can start using your plan straight away, without the need for a physical SIM card inside your phone.

Lyca Mobile’s eSIM service is compatible with the iPhone 11, the Samsung Galaxy S20, the Google Pixel 3, and later devices. You can see a full list of compatible devices on the Lyca Mobile website. In addition, most eSIM-ready phones allow you to use dual-SIM with eSIM so you can have two phone numbers at the same time on your device (e.g. both your personal phone number and your work phone number).

Keeping Your Phone Number

If you’re switching from another UK mobile network, it’s a straightforward process transferring your phone number to Lyca Mobile.

Start by ordering your new SIM-only plan from the Lyca Mobile website. Depending on how much data you require, you can choose from a range of plans between 1GB per month and unlimited data.

Once you’ve ordered your new Lyca Mobile SIM card, you can request a PAC Code from your old mobile network. This is available through your mobile network’s website or app, or by texting PAC to 65075.

Once you’ve received and activated your new Lyca Mobile SIM card, you’ll be able to submit your PAC Code through this page on the Lyca Mobile website. Your phone number will then be moved over within 2 working days.
