Endless Video on VOXI

What is Endless Video?

On VOXI, endless video streaming is now included on selected price plans from £12/month. This allows you to stream from all of the following apps and services, without eating into the regular data allowance on your plan:

  • TikTok
  • YouTube
  • Netflix
  • Amazon Prime Video
  • My5
  • TVPlayer
  • UKTV Play
  • Twisted Mirror

The inclusion of endless video is a pretty significant offer from VOXI. This is because online video is normally the activity that uses up data most quickly on your phone. Watching a HD-quality stream can use 2-3GB of data every hour and that’s something that can add up very quickly over the course of a month.

The endless video on VOXI includes all of the above services, whether you’re using the mobile application or website. It also includes tethering to another phone, laptop or tablet. However, VOXI warns on their website that it doesn’t include tethering to a smart TV, games console or other TV streaming devices like a Chromecast, Roku or Fire TV Stick. You’ll also need to have some of your regular data allowance remaining to benefit from the Endless Video offer.

The endless video offer only includes your mobile data usage: it doesn’t include a paid subscription to the services. For instance, you’ll still need to pay the regular subscription fee for watching Amazon Prime Video or Netflix. Meanwhile, other services like YouTube and TVPlayer are available without a subscription fee but are advertising-supported.

How Much Data Can You Save?

For many people, online video streaming is the activity that uses up data most quickly on your phone. As a broad rule of thumb:

  • Streaming standard-definition video (in SD quality) will use 0.5GB to 1GB of data per hour.
  • Streaming high-definition video (in HD quality) will use 1.5GB to 3GB of data per hour.
  • Streaming ultra-HD video (in 4K quality) will use 7GB to 10GB of data per hour.

This data usage can add up very quickly over the course of one month. For instance, watching an hour of standard-definition video each day would use between 15GB and 30GB of data per month. If you’re watching in high-definition, this data usage increases to between 45GB and 90GB of data per month.

Of course, if you have VOXI’s endless video offer, your data usage on the above services will not be counted towards your download allowance. However, if you’re choosing a plan elsewhere without the endless video offer, you’ll need to pay for a larger data allowance to cover all of that video streaming usage.

The following table shows how expected data usage varies across different video streaming services and at a range of different qualities:

Video Service Data Usage for Video Streaming
Standard Definition (SD) High Definition (HD) Ultra HD (4K)
YouTube 600MB per hour 2GB per hour 10GB per hour
Prime Video 400MB per hour 1.5GB per hour
Netflix 1GB per hour 3GB per hour 7GB per hour
My5 500MB-750MB per hour 1.5-2GB per hour
TVPlayer 450MB per hour 1.2GB per hour
Typical Range: 500MB to 1GB per hour 1.5GB to 3GB per hour 7GB to 10GB per hour

Source: YouTube, Amazon Prime Video, Netflix, My5 and TVPlayer websites. A bitrate of 1Mbps equates to 450MB (0.45GB) of data usage per hour.

You’ll need a 5G-ready phone to access VOXI’s 5G service. You’ll also need to be inside a 5G coverage area.

Other VOXI Features

Endless Social Media

In addition to endless video and 5G, you’ll also get endless social media on VOXI. This gives you endless data for use on the following social media and instant messaging apps, without needing to use your regular data allowance:

  • Facebook
  • WhatsApp
  • Snapchat
  • Twitter
  • Instagram
  • Facebook Messenger
  • Pinterest

As with endless video, you’ll need to have some of your regular data allowance remaining to access endless social media. The endless social media offer doesn’t include voice or video calls made through Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp and Instagram. Instead, the data usage for these calls will count towards your regular data allowance.

No Contract & No Credit Check

There’s no need to sign a contract or to undergo a credit check when joining the VOXI network.

VOXI works on a one-month rolling basis, giving you the flexibility to change your plan each month (e.g. upgrading to a plan with more data, or downgrading to a cheaper plan with less data).

VOXI can also be used if you don’t want the hassle of going through a credit check. The plans on VOXI are a pre-paid product, so they’re also suitable for under-18s who aren’t able to undergo a credit check. It also isn’t possible to accidentally run up unexpected charges outside of your inclusive allowance.

Keeping Your Phone Number

If you’re changing from another mobile network to VOXI, it’s easy to keep your current phone number.

Start by ordering your free SIM card from VOXI online. Once you’ve done this, you can request a PAC Code from your old network. You can get a PAC Code through your mobile network’s website or app, or by texting PAC to 65075. It’s always free getting a PAC Code from your old network and once issued, it’ll be valid for 30 days.

When your new VOXI SIM card arrives in the post, you’ll be able to log in to your VOXI account to submit your PAC Code online. Once you’ve done this, your phone number transfer will then normally take place on the next working day.

For a step-by-step guide on transferring your phone number to VOXI, please select your current mobile network from the drop-down menu below:

I have bought a £12/month plan to get this free video streaming service and yet the data streamed is still counting against my usage.
So in terms of satisfaction very low.
Phoning just gets you booted off to an online service which is not only low satisfaction but also completely useless if you have run out of data.
    Double fail in my eyes.
    Poor.

    • James Grinter replied:

They only seem to currently have £10 and £15 plans. As the table above says, and Voxi’s website confirms, “Endless Video” isn’t included on the £10 one.
