ASDA Mobile £10 Mega Christmas Bundle: Unlimited Calls & 20GB Data

In the run-up to Christmas 2016, ASDA Mobile offered unlimited minutes, unlimited texts and 20GB data for £10/month.
As a special promotion, ASDA Mobile is offering a £10 Christmas bundle on Pay As You Go with unlimited minutes, unlimited texts and a massive 20GB of internet.
The 30-day Mega Christmas Bundle is available to all ASDA Mobile customers and to anyone who orders a free SIM card from ASDA Mobile before the 31st December 2016.
In this article, we’ll review ASDA’s Mega Christmas Bundle. We’ll discuss how you can take advantage of the offer and we’ll compare it to rival bundles available on other networks. We’ll also look at the coverage available on ASDA Mobile and at how you can keep an existing phone number when moving to the network.
Mega Christmas Bundle
ASDA Mobile is currently offering a special £10 Christmas Bundle for customers ordering a free SIM card before the 31st December 2016. The bundle includes:
- Unlimited calls. Includes to UK mobiles and landlines.
- Unlimited texts. Includes to UK mobiles and landlines.
- 20GB of data. A massive 20GB of data (most £10 bundles include 1GB of data or less).
Customers joining the ASDA Mobile network have 99% population coverage from the EE network. There are no contracts or minimum commitments: you just need to top-up the SIM card and place it in your mobile phone to get going.
Buying a Christmas Bundle
If you’re not currently an ASDA Mobile customer, you can order a free SIM card from their website to get started on the service.
If you’re an existing ASDA Mobile customer, you can buy a Mega Christmas Bundle by texting MEGA to 2732. Before doing this, you’ll need to top-up your phone with £10 of credit.
Alongside the £10 Mega Christmas Bundle, ASDA Mobile also continues to offer their normal line-up of Pay As You Go bundles. For instance, if you’re a very light user, you can save money by buying the £7/month bundle (this comes with 300 minutes, unlimited texts and 500MB of internet).
You can also use ASDA Mobile on a Pay As You Go basis for 8p/minute and 4p/text with no minimum monthly top-up. With this option, there’s no need to worry about credit expiry (you just need to use your phone at least once every 270 days in order to keep it active).
Comparison to Alternatives
£10 per month bundles
At present, ASDA’s £10 Mega Christmas Bundle is by far the market-leading offer. With it, you’ll get unlimited calls, unlimited texts and 20GB of data. For the same monthly price, other mobile networks will typically provide only up to 500 minutes and 1GB of data per month.
Normally, ASDA Mobile offers 600 minutes, unlimited texts and 1.5GB of internet for £10/month (this would still make it our market-leading offer).
Heavy Data Users
If you’re a heavy data user, rival mobile networks will charge at least £20/month for a comparable amount of data.
The closest alternative to ASDA’s Mega Christmas Bundle is probably giffgaff’s £20 goodybag. This has unlimited minutes, unlimited texts and unlimited downloads (with tethering and 4G on the first 6GB per month).

Network & Coverage
2G & 3G Coverage from EE
ASDA Mobile is a virtual network operator that uses EE as its network coverage provider. This means customers using ASDA Mobile will get coverage from EE’s 2G and 3G network. At present, this represents 99% population coverage for calls, texts and high-speed mobile internet.

Tethering or personal hotspot refers to the process of sharing your smartphone’s internet connection with other devices (e.g. with your laptop or tablet).
On ASDA Mobile, tethering is permitted on all of their Pay As You Go bundles. This includes on the £10 Mega Christmas Bundle. Because of this, the Mega Christmas Bundle can be a great solution for getting your other devices connected on the move this Christmas. You can use the 20GB of data for keeping your family entertained, whether they’re using a smartphone, tablet or laptop.

Keeping Your Phone Number
If you’re switching to ASDA Mobile to take advantage of the Mega Christmas Bundle, it’s a straightforward process to keep an existing phone number from your old mobile network.
To do so, you should start by ordering a free SIM card from the ASDA Mobile website. Once you’ve done that, contact your old mobile network and ask them for a PAC Code.
When you receive your new SIM card from ASDA Mobile, you should contact ASDA Mobile Customer Services to give them your PAC Code. You can do this by calling 2732 from your ASDA Mobile SIM card or 0800 952 0393 from any other phone.
After you provide your PAC Code to ASDA Mobile, it will normally take about one working day for your phone number to be moved over.
