O2 Mobile Broadband Benefits
Pay Monthly For Your Tablet & Smartwatch
If you’re buying a new tablet or smartwatch from O2, you’ll be able to pay for it in monthly instalments over a period of up to 48 months. The O2 Refresh ‘device plan’ is offered as an interest-free credit agreement (at 0% APR) so there’s no extra cost when you choose to pay monthly for your device.
To give an example, the Apple iPad (9th Generation) currently has a cash price of £531. Instead of paying for it all in one go, you can pay £10.65 per month over 48 months, plus £20 upfront. You’ll then add your airtime plan on top of that (e.g. £11 per month for 1GB data).
Alongside their pre-built plans, O2 also gives you the ability to create your own custom plan. When you customise your plan, you’ll be able to choose your upfront cost, along with the length of your device plan agreement (between 3 months and 48 months). You can also choose how much data you get (between 1GB data and unlimited data per month).
O2 Extras
When you sign up on an O2 Pay Monthly tablet plan, you’ll be able to choose an O2 Extra that lasts for up to six months.
Disney+ is one of the most popular options for an inclusive O2 Extra. When you choose the Disney+ extra, you’ll be able to stream Star Wars: The Mandalorian Season 3, along with a wide range of other shows and movies from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, National Geographic and Star. You’ll get six months of Disney+ when you choose a ‘Plus’ plan and three months of Disney+ on all other plans. After the introductory period, you can also get a £2 per month discount when you subscribe to Disney+ through your O2 bill.
Another option is to get up to 6 months of inclusive Amazon services. This is available when you choose a Pay Monthly ‘Plus’ tablet plan with at least 2GB data per month. Your options include 6 months of Amazon Prime, Amazon Music Unlimited or Audible. After the introductory period, you can get a £2 per month discount when you pay for Amazon Prime through your O2 bill.
Alongside this, selected O2 plans also come with up to 6 months of Apple services included:
- Apple Music: You’ll get up to 6 months of Apple Music included when you choose a Plus tablet plan, or up to 3 months on other tablet plans.
- Apple TV+: You’ll get up to 6 months of Apple TV+ included when you buy an iPad on a Plus tablet plan.
- Apple Fitness+: You’ll get up to 4 months of Apple Fitness+ when you buy the Apple Watch on any smartwatch plan.
Volt Customer Benefits
If your household has Virgin Media broadband, you’ll get Volt customer benefits on your O2 plan. This includes:
- Double data on your tablet & smartwatch plan. The data allowance on your O2 plan will be doubled at no extra cost, for as long as your household has Virgin Media broadband.
- O2 Travel Inclusive Zone bolt-on. In addition to the free European roaming (up to 25GB per month) that’s available to all O2 customers, Volt customers will also get the O2 Travel Inclusive Zone bolt-on. This allows you to use your mobile device at no extra cost in a further 27 international destinations such as the USA, Canada, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand and more.
Alongside this, you’ll get a boost to the next fastest available speed on your Virgin Media broadband connection. You’ll also get Intelligent WiFi Plus with up to three WiFi Pods at no extra cost. This improves the WiFi coverage in your home, extending the signal and removing WiFi coverage blank-spots.
Take Phone Calls On The Go
If you’re using a compatible smartwatch, you’ll be able to make and receive phone calls and text messages on-the-go using your normal O2 mobile number. This is possible even when your smartwatch is out-of-range from your mobile phone. That’s because the smartwatch is able to connect directly to O2’s mobile network, without the need to always be in range of your mobile phone.
The ability to use your smartwatch without having your phone nearby is convenient for times when you’d like to leave your mobile phone at home (e.g. when you go to the gym or when you go for a run).
99% UK Coverage
In the UK, O2’s 4G network covers more than 99% of the population. They also offer faster 5G coverage in about 750 UK towns and cities.
As an O2 mobile broadband customer (including tablet and smartwatch plans), you’ll get access to O2’s award-winning network across the UK. This allows you to use your tablet when you’re away from home. It allows you to use your smartwatch away from your mobile phone.
If you’d like to double-check the coverage in your area, you can do this by entering your postcode on O2’s online coverage map:

In the UK, O2 is the only major mobile network to retain free EU roaming for all of their customers. This means mobile broadband and tablet plan customers on O2 will also benefit from inclusive EU roaming.
