Galaxy S21 on Vodafone

Trade-In Guarantee

Vodafone is currently offering a trade-in guarantee for anyone who wants to upgrade from a Galaxy S9 or Galaxy S10.

When you trade in an old phone from this range, you’ll get a saving of £15 per month on your new Samsung Galaxy S21 plan. This is a total saving of £360 over your 24-month contract. Your old phone needs to be in good working order for you to be able to trade it in.

To get the trade-in saving, start by ordering your new Galaxy S21 phone online. You can then use Vodafone’s Trade-in Tool to get an instant confirmation that your phone passes all of their checks.

Annual Upgrade Promise

Vodafone is currently offering an annual upgrade promise on all of the Galaxy S21 phones.

With the annual upgrade promise, you can upgrade your phone at any time once you’ve had it for at least 12 months (e.g. to the latest Samsung, the latest iPhone, or another phone if you prefer). You’ll need to choose a new plan that costs the same or more each month and you’ll need to return your Galaxy S21 when you upgrade. There are no early upgrade fees when using this service.

If, after 12 months, you don’t want to upgrade to a newer phone, you can simply keep your Galaxy S21 and can continue using it as normal on your plan. There’s more information about this on the Vodafone website.

Unlimited Data Plans

Vodafone offers all three Galaxy S21 phones on a range of Vodafone Red and Vodafone Unlimited plans.

If you choose a Vodafone Unlimited plan, you’ll get unlimited data with no limits on how much you can download inside the UK. You can also choose from three different plans, depending on the download speeds you’d like:

  • Unlimited Max gives you the fastest available download speeds along with 81 roam-free destinations as part of Vodafone’s Global Roaming Plus.
  • Unlimited gives you download speeds of up to 10Mbps and access to 51 roam-free destinations. This is suitable for most daily usage including streaming HD video online.
  • Unlimited Lite gives you download speeds of up to 2Mbps. This is suitable for browsing, messaging, social media and listening to music online.

The following table shows how much you’d pay for the Galaxy S21 with unlimited data on Vodafone:

If you don’t need an unlimited data plan, you can get a cheaper Vodafone Red plan with either 48GB of data or 100GB of data per month.

5G Network

All of the Galaxy S21 phones support 5G technology so you can access ultrafast speeds on Vodafone’s 5G network in 100 UK towns and cities.

According to Vodafone, their 5G network offers average download speeds of 150-200Mbps. This is around five to ten times faster than 4G which has an average download speed of 23-35Mbps. You’ll also benefit from greater network capacity so you can stay connected in busy places and lower latency so things should be more responsive on your phone.

In September 2020, Vodafone was named London’s best 5G network by umlaut, a mobile network benchmarking company. According to the umlaut report, Vodafone’s 5G network gave an average download speed of 215.2Mbps in the capital. They also had better reliability than 5G networks from other providers.

VeryMe Rewards

VeryMe Rewards is Vodafone’s customer loyalty programme. It gives you access to weekly giveaways and offers from a range of brands like Costa Coffee, Thorntons, Vue and Greggs. You can get a weekly treat every Friday as part of Vodafone’s ongoing #FeelGoodFriday campaign.

You’ll get access to VeryMe Rewards on all Pay Monthly plans from Vodafone.

eSIM Support

If you buy your Galaxy S21 on a contract from Vodafone, you’ll get a SIM card included with it that allows you to access the Vodafone network. You have the option of exchanging this for an eSIM at a later date if you don’t want to use a physical SIM card in your Galaxy S21.

If you’ve purchased a Galaxy S21 elsewhere (e.g. on a SIM-free and unlocked basis), the fastest way to start using it is by getting an eSIM from Vodafone. All of Vodafone’s SIM-only deals can be used on eSIM. Just choose the “eSIM” option when you order a SIM card from Vodafone and you’ll be emailed an eSIM that you can start using straight away.

Keeping Your Phone Number

If you’re switching from another mobile network to a new Galaxy S21 phone on Vodafone, it’s easy to keep your current phone number.

Start by ordering your new Galaxy S21 phone on Vodafone’s website. Once you’ve done that, you can request a PAC Code from your old network. You can get one free of charge through your mobile network’s website or app, or by texting PAC to 65075.

When your new Galaxy S21 handset arrives, set it up and give your PAC Code to Vodafone. They’ll schedule the transfer of your phone number, normally for the next working day.
