It’s powered by the latest full fibre technology (fibre-to-the-premises or FTTP), where the fibre optic line goes all the way into your home. As well as giving you faster download speeds, it’s altogether a more reliable connection, giving you a more responsive experience online.

EE Broadband Features
EE One
As an EE Home Broadband customer, you’ll be able to save £20 per month on your mobile bill through EE One.
With the EE One offer, you can get a £20 per month discount on all of EE’s unlimited data plans. This includes both their handset plans and SIM-only deals. For instance, you’ll be able to get an unlimited data SIM card on EE from just £10 per month (with a maximum speed of 10Mbps). You can also benefit from a shorter one-month rolling contract on their EE One SIM-only deals.
Smart Hub Pro & Smart WiFi Pro
If you choose EE’s Full Fibre 150 plan or above, there’s the option to upgrade to their latest Smart Hub Pro router. This has support for the latest Wi-Fi 7 technology (802.11be), which delivers faster download speeds and allows you to use more devices at the same time on your home network. It also supports tri-band technology for reduced interference.
Alongside the Smart Hub Pro, you’ll get Smart WiFi Pro, which uses mesh technology to extend the range of your Wi-Fi 7 network. This is backed up by a 100Mbps Wi-Fi speed guarantee, which gives you £100 back if you’re unable to get 100Mbps in every room of your home.
As well as having the latest WiFi 7 technology, the Smart Hub Pro comes with 4x 2.5Gbps LAN ports for connecting wired devices to your home network. There’s also support for multiple SSIDs and a separate guest Wi-Fi network. There are also WiFi controls in the EE app, allowing you to optimise your home network and to pause certain devices when needed (e.g. turning off the internet during mealtimes or after bedtime).
If you don’t choose the Smart Hub Pro upgrade, you’ll get EE’s Smart Hub Plus router included as standard. This has support for Wi-Fi 6 technology (802.11ax), along with dual-band Wi-Fi, a guest Wi-Fi network, and Wi-Fi controls.
WiFi Enhancer
You’ll be able to add EE’s WiFi Enhancer service for an extra £5 per month. This will allow you to enable ‘work mode’ or ‘game mode’ on your connection:
- Work Mode: This will prioritise work-from-home applications on your network such as Zoom, Slack and Microsoft Teams.
- Game Mode: This will prioritise games on your network. You’ll get a ‘Geo Filter’ feature that helps you to find gaming servers with the lowest amount of lag. There’s also a ‘Ping Optimiser’ feature that’s designed to reduce the amount of lag when you’re playing games online.
In the background, EE’s WiFi Enhancer service is powered by Netduma. The service is available on a one-month rolling basis, so you can add it or remove it from your plan as you require.
Smart Hybrid Connect
For additional peace of mind, you can add EE’s Smart Hybrid Connect service. This will use EE’s 4G mobile network to keep you connected to the internet, should there ever be a fault with the fibre broadband connection into your home.
The biggest advantage of using Smart Hybrid Connect is how it works seamlessly and transparently to keep all of your devices online. If a fault is detected with your fibre connection, it will automatically switch your entire home network to a 4G connection in the background. All of your devices will then stay online without you needing to lift a finger. You’ll also get unlimited data for the duration that you’re using the Smart Hybrid Connect.
Switching to EE Broadband
If you’re switching from another broadband provider, it’s easy to move your broadband to EE.
To switch, you simply need to sign up for your EE broadband plan online. When you do this, you’ll be able to choose an installation date and EE will contact your old provider for you to let them know that you’re switching.
On the go-live date for your new EE broadband service, you’ll need to plug in your EE hub router, and you’ll need to reconnect your devices to the new home Wi-Fi network. In addition, an engineer visit might be required if you’re getting full fibre broadband (FTTP) installed in your home for the first time.
Your old broadband service will be cancelled for you automatically, so there’s no need to contact your old provider to cancel.
