Just had occasion to contact virgin media and got thru to a guy called Vila’s who helped me enormously. Although I only needed to retrieve some channels on my tv that I had lost the day before. He was able to reduce my monthly cost by 2£ a month and I now have all the channels I had before plus some extra ones ( Sports channels no less) Vey pleased.

I totally agree with all the comments made. I have recently spent about five hours trying to get virgin to honour a contract I had agreed over a month ago, and was given a complete runaround ending up accepting a useless package with basically free view tv, (mixit). Virgin do not give a tuppeny bit for their loyal customers, and do nothing but mislead when trying to get some facts. It is impossible to speak to any of the managers, and the agents are so poorly trained, it is pathetic. Unfortunately there is not much of an alternative. Thanks for listening.
Geoff Norfolk said:
How do they make things so complicated………….. wanted to change my package from £125 downwards to save a bit………… so many things there I really couldn’t work out what I could get, what channels I’d gain or lose………… very poor. Surely they could just have something clear and easy to understand………….. I’m not stupid!!
Andrew replied:
I agree entirely, it’s all smoke and mirrors.
Jombob said:
Just had the same terrible experience could hardly understand what an earth they were saying as from India. Contract run out, was paying 57 pounds a month put sky sports on it? I was so confused ended up on max it paying 82 ponds plus another 10 pounds for a 02 SIM card with 10ggb ? Had card on old deal included in the price so the total price 92 pounds from 57? I have been with virgin nearly 30 years? Just don’t know where I am it would help if the people on the line where able to explain everything? Think after this I am going elsewhere it doesn’t pay or add up to be loyal? But I left sky 30 years ago and never went back perhaps time to give others a chance not happy at all
Laura said:
I totally agree with the other comments. I spent all afternoon yesterday on live chat trying to sort out my Oomph package that runs out at the end of July. I’ve had to lose a lot of channels one of which I watch the most, I have just found out on checking the channel listing, is not included. My mobile was also included in my package, I was talked into adding this 18 months ago when I last renewed (which I have to say made a good deal) and now on the new package its not and they are talking minimum £10 a month for data I don’t use very much due to being at home all day and using my wifi. I have been with cable TV since East Lancs Cable were the provider and have stayed as each successive provider has taken over. I am seriously consider cancelling the whole lot & going with either Sky or Freeview & Now TV.

It seems that you give good deals for new customers and good deals for people threatening to leave
What about discount for loyal customers at this hard cost of living crisis
cheryl replied:
totally agree with you, told them that agin today when i phoned always give to new customers but nothing to loyal customers of 20 years, have to go through to retentions to get anything, there a joke.
Tracey said:
Very similar happened to me after 2 months of arguing and talking to 4 people who don’t seem to know anything about there job and signing a contract in April for £59 for mixit tv plus phone plus 200 to then be told I didn’t have a contract and needed to pay 185.00 that was overdue which I refused to pay I finally spoke to a honest bloke called kane who informed me that the manager that was dealing with me before never applied the offer he promised and kane took the time to sort it all out and backdate the offer so I really only owed them £43 in the end which I payed immediately but virgin is a waste of time very much a rip off company !!!

I spoke to a rep today and asked to ditch my tv package and just have Broadband and phone. I was told I could keep my existing package for £21 pound less than I was paying. Sounded great so I agreed. I’ve just checked my channels and they have taken all the sky channels out!! Not impressed by y being mis lead.
Derek Warriner replied:
Just like you I was mislead in exactly the same way….. Virgin media is far from being honest…

Yes recently changed my package and did not realise I would lose channels too. I know I was trying to save money however seems unfair they took away HD channels plus others. If I was a new customer I would have got a better deal. What about rewarding loyal customers.
