Talk Home Mobile Plans
In the UK, Talk Home Mobile offers Pay As You Go deals with access to 4G & 5G coverage from EE. At present, you can choose from a range of monthly bundles that start from £2.50/month for the first 3 months (£5/month thereafter). Alternatively, you can Pay As You Go at the rates of 1p/minute, 1p/text and 1p/MB.
Monthly Bundles
For most people, the cheapest way to use Talk Home Mobile is to get one of their rolling monthly plans. With the monthly plans from Talk Home Mobile, you’ll get unlimited UK minutes, unlimited UK texts, and an allowance of 5G mobile data included.
Although you’re paying on a one-month rolling basis, there’s no contract and no credit check required. You can also change or cancel your plan at any time.
The following table shows Talk Home’s one-month rolling plans:
Network | Data | Monthly Cost | |
---|---|---|---|
| 4GB data | £0.01 for 3 months, then £5 per month 1 month rolling | See deal |
| 8GB data | £0.99 for 3 months, then £8 per month 1 month rolling | See deal |
| 20GB data | £1.99 for 3 months, then £10 per month 1 month rolling | See deal |
| 50GB data | £6.50 for 3 months, then £15 per month 1 month rolling | See deal |
| 100GB data | £8.50 for 3 months, then £20 per month 1 month rolling | See deal |
| Unlimited data | £13.50 for 3 months, then £35 per month 1 month rolling | See deal |
12 Month Contracts
If you sign up on a 12-month contract, you can get additional data on your plan, as well as a larger discount for the first 3 months.
The following table shows Talk Home Mobile’s 12-month plans:
Network | Data | Monthly Cost | |
---|---|---|---|
No price plans could be found matching this criteria. |
When you choose a 12-month contract, an early termination fee applies if you cancel within the first 12 months.
Pay As You Go
It’s also possible to use Talk Home Mobile without the need to pay a regular monthly fee.
When you opt-in to their Penny Pro plan, you’ll pay just 1p/minute, 1p/text and 1p/MB. The caveat is that you’ll need to opt-in to this plan again every 30 days to benefit. Otherwise, you’ll go back to Talk Home Mobile’s standard Pay As You Go rates which are 18p/minute and 5p/text.
The following table shows Talk Home Mobile’s standard Pay As You Go rates:
Calling Rates: | |
---|---|
Voice Calls | Free to other Talk Home Mobile customers 18p/minute to other UK mobile networks 10p/minute to UK landlines 1p/minute with Penny Pro opt-in |
Calls to Voicemail | Free |
Calls to Special Rate Numbers | 15p/minute access charge + service charge from the company you’re calling |
Messaging Rates: | |
Text Message (SMS) | Free to other Talk Home Mobile customers 5p to other UK mobile networks 1p with Penny Pro opt-in |
Picture Message (MMS) | 25p |
Internet Rates: | |
Mobile Data | 1p/MB |
You’ll need to use your mobile phone for a chargeable activity at least once every 90 days to keep your SIM card active.
Looking across the rest of the UK mobile landscape, the Penny Pro plan from Talk Home Mobile is very similar to the offering from 1pMobile. The main difference is that 1pMobile requires you to add £10 of fresh Pay As You Go credit every 120 days. In contrast, customers on Talk Home Mobile will need to manually opt-in every 30 days and will need to have a chargeable activity every 90 days (which can include the use of existing Pay As You Go credit that’s already on your account). In addition, you can top-up your phone by as little as £2.50 each time (the minimum top-up is £10 on 1pMobile).
International Plans
You can call abroad from as little as 1p/minute on Talk Home Mobile. In addition, they offer specialist international calling plans from £10 per month, giving you an allowance of minutes and texts for contacting one of the following destinations:
- Angola
- Bangladesh
- Bulgaria
- Ghana
- Global†
- India
- Jamaica
- Nigeria
- Pakistan
- Poland
- Romania
It’s worth noting that the international plans do not come with any UK allowances included (i.e. you won’t get any UK minutes, UK texts and mobile data with your international plan). For that reason, you’ll need to buy a UK plan in addition to your international plan.

4G & 5G Coverage From EE

Before you order a Talk Home Mobile SIM card, you can double-check the coverage in your area using the map on EE’s website:

Keeping Your Phone Number
If you’re switching to Talk Home Mobile, it’s a straightforward process to keep your current phone number.
Start by ordering your new Pay As You Go plan from the Talk Home Mobile website. Once you’ve done that, you can get a PAC Code from your old network. This is available through your mobile network’s website or app, or when you text PAC to 65075.
When your new Talk Home Mobile SIM card arrives in the post, you’ll be able to submit your PAC Code through this page. Once you’ve done that, you’ll be able to choose a date for the number to move over. You’ll also get 1GB of extra data added to your account once the transfer is complete.
For a step-by-step guide on how to transfer your phone number to Talk Home Mobile, please select your current mobile network from the drop down menu below:
For more information about transferring your phone number between networks, see our full guide to using a PAC Code.

Hi Ken,
Many thanks for the comprehensive review of Talk Home Mobile (and others).
If I’m reading their FAQ corrextly, looks like the account expiry rules have changed and require topup every 3 months: https://mobile-help.talkhome.co.uk/support/solutions/articles/101000421124-how-long-can-i-keep-my-number-if-i-don-t-use-talk-home-services-
Can you please confirm?
Many thanks, Kazik

1p per minute calls. Looks a really good deal for elderly people (like me) who have a phone in the car and only make a couple of short calls every month and use no data. 🙂

Hi Ken, I think you need to clarify that these packages being offered now come with a 12 month contract and that contract is being applied retroactively. Talk Home changed the terms and have notified customers – see this thread on HUKD here:

Hi Ashwin,
Thanks for this – it is news to me. I’m currently getting some clarification on the changes and will update ASAP.

Hi Ashwin,
As a quick update, I’ve spoken to Talk Home Mobile and I believe these proposed T&C changes have now been cancelled.

Amir replied:
They have been cancelled. I wish you would’t use EU destinations for all 31 counties Ken. There are only 27 countries in the EU, it’s so confusing. Just put EU and other European destinations. MSE does the opposite and calls it free roaming in Europe. Then you find Russia and north Macedonia aren’t included which are in Europe.
Also they have a yearly deal which ends on the 30th for 250 mins and texts and 1gb of data for £15 for the year.
