BT TV Features

Flexible TV Packages

On BT TV, your television package is flexible. This means you can change your BT TV package whenever you like (e.g. switching between entertainment and sports). For instance, you can switch to a sports-based plan when the football season starts. Similarly, you can switch to an entertainment-based plan during the school holidays.

You can manage your BT TV package through the My BT app. You can also add and remove monthly add-ons to your BT TV plan.

NOW Entertainment & Netflix Membership

You’ll get inclusive memberships to both NOW and Netflix when you sign for an Entertainment plan on BT TV.

Your NOW Entertainment membership gives you access to Sky’s entertainment channels including Sky Atlantic, Sky Max, Sky Showcase and more. You’ll also get children’s TV channels and more than 300 box sets to watch on-demand. You can watch them through your BT TV box, or through any other device that’s compatible with NOW.

Your inclusive Netflix Basic subscription gives you access to Netflix’s entire catalogue of shows and movies. You’ll be able to stream on-demand whenever you like, either on your BT TV box or on another Netflix-compatible device.

If you’re an existing member of either NOW or Netflix, you can transfer your existing subscription to your BT TV bill. You’ll be able to keep your existing account with all of the history, recommendations and more.

BT TV Box Pro

You’ll get the BT TV Box Pro included with your plan. This is a clever set-top box that blends together all of your channels and content into one easy-to-use interface. It also brings your catch-up TV services into the regular programme guide.

Behind the scenes, your Freeview channels will be received using an aerial and everything else will be delivered over your broadband connection (including NOW, Netflix, AMC and catch-up TV). The BT TV box seamlessly blends them together so there’s no need to think about how the service is being received. For instance, you can just go to channel 333 to watch Netflix on your TV. Alternatively, it’s channel 342 to watch Sky Atlantic (part of your NOW Entertainment membership).

A number of apps are available for the BT TV Box Pro including BBC iPlayer, Netflix, NOW, Amazon Prime Video and BritBox.

The BT TV Box Pro connects to your hub over wi-fi, or you can use the provided 1.5m Ethernet cable if you prefer. You can add an extra BT TV box to watch in another room at the same time for an extra £5 per month.

Pause, Rewind, Record & Catch Up TV

The BT TV box allows you to pause, rewind and record live TV. You can pause and rewind live television for up to two hours. There’s also storage for up to 600 hours of recordings, with the ability to record on up to four channels at the same time. You can schedule recordings directly on the BT TV box, or remotely with the BT TV app.

If you’d like to watch a programme that hasn’t been recorded, you can stream from catch-up TV services on your BT TV Box. There are dedicated apps for BBC iPlayer, ITV Hub, All 4 and more on the box.

Switching to BT

If you’re currently using a different broadband or TV provider, it’s easy switching your service to BT.

Start by ordering your Fibre 2 with Entertainment plan from the BT website. When you do this, BT will give you a switchover date for the service (typically for around two weeks time). You can then contact your old broadband & TV provider to cancel the old service.

In advance of your BT TV and BT Broadband service going live, you’ll be sent your new BT TV Box and Smart Hub router through the post. Normally, you’ll just need to plug in both of these devices on the go-live date for your service.
