Tethering

Tethering or personal hotspot refers to the process of sharing your smartphone’s internet connection with other devices (e.g. with your laptop or tablet).

Personal Hotspot on iPhoneOn ASDA Mobile, tethering is permitted on all Pay As You Go bundles. This includes on the £10 Mega Christmas Bundle. Because the Mega Christmas Bundle allows you to tether, you can use it for getting your other devices connected on-the-go this Christmas. For instance, you could share the mobile internet connection with another smartphone, tablet or laptop to keep your family entertained as they travel this Christmas.

Many other low-cost Pay As You Go networks prohibit the use of tethering on their network. For more information, see our in-depth guide to tethering on UK mobile networks.

International Roaming

With most ASDA Mobile bundles, it’s possible to use your smartphone abroad in 48 European destinations at no extra cost. The £10 Mega Christmas Bundle is specifically excluded from this offer and can only be used inside the UK. Therefore, if you’d like to use your smartphone abroad in Europe this Christmas, you’ll need to consider buying one of ASDA Mobile’s standard bundles.

Keeping Your Phone Number

If you’re switching to ASDA Mobile to take advantage of the Mega Christmas Bundle, it’s a straightforward process to keep an existing phone number from your old mobile network.

To do so, start by ordering a free SIM card from the ASDA Mobile website. Once you’ve done that, you should contact your old mobile network to ask for a PAC Code.

Once you’ve received your new SIM card in the post from ASDA Mobile, you can contact ASDA Mobile Customer Services to give them your PAC Code. You can do this by calling 2732 from your ASDA Mobile SIM card or 0800 079 2732 from any other phone.

After you provide your PAC Code to ASDA Mobile, your phone number will normally be transferred on the next working day.

Has anyone tried renewing the bundle? Can I use it multiple times if I need to in the time allowed (fibre broadband is down over Xmas!!!)

  • Great value for money, only downside not being able to send short number texts, they have been saying for a couple of years they would change It loyal customers are still waiting Asda.

      • Apparently the way that they keep their prices so low, is by not buying the license required to text short numbers.
That’s what they told me anyway when I called them about ten months ago.

        • Told me about eighteen months ago they were hoping to do it! They only reply when it suits them, try getting a reply from Customer service.
