The latest devices in the Galaxy A series are the Galaxy A14, Galaxy A34 and Galaxy A54. Although the three devices share quite a lot in common, there are also some major differences beneath the hood (e.g. in the design, performance and camera on the phone).

Through the rest of this article, we’ll look at each device in more detail.
Samsung Galaxy A14
The Galaxy A14 is the cheapest device in Samsung’s latest range of Galaxy A smartphones. It’s currently available for just £12.99 per month plus £19 upfront at the Carphone Warehouse, with 25GB data per month on iD Mobile.
Despite the low price, the Galaxy A14 will give you a high-resolution Full HD+ 6.6-inch screen. This is an Infinity-V display using a small V-shaped cut-out for the front-facing camera, maximising the screen space on the front of the phone.
The Galaxy A14 also has a triple-camera system going up to 50 megapixels on the back, along with a 13-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies.
Owing to its low price, the standard version of the Galaxy A14 is a 4G-only device. This means you won’t be able to access the fastest 5G download speeds, unless you buy the 5G version of the phone. It also lacks the IP67 dust and water resistance rating that is found on the more expensive models like the Galaxy A34 and Galaxy A54.

Samsung Galaxy A34
The Galaxy A34 is a step-up from the Galaxy A14, giving you improved performance and better specifications in a number of areas.
The Galaxy A34 is currently available for £19.99 per month at the Carphone Warehouse. This includes 50GB data per month on iD Mobile. You’ll also get a free pair of Galaxy Buds2 earphones when you sign up.
For the extra £7 per month compared the Galaxy A14, you’ll get the following upgrades on the Galaxy A34:
- Display: The Galaxy A34 has a Super AMOLED screen that’s capable of delivering refresh rates up to 120Hz. The use of Super AMOLED technology gives you a brighter and more vibrant image on the Galaxy A34. You can also benefit from smoother scrolling and tapping on the Galaxy A34, thanks to the 120Hz refresh rate.
- Camera: On the Galaxy A34, the triple-camera system has been given an upgrade in multiple areas. For instance, the main camera gains auto-focus and optical image stabilisation (OIS). This helps you to take clear photos & videos, even in low-light conditions. You can also record 4K Ultra HD video on the Galaxy A34, whereas the Galaxy A14 is limited to Full HD video.
- Storage: The Galaxy A34 comes with 128GB storage as standard, compared to the 64GB storage on the Galaxy A14. That means a lot more space for your photos, videos, music, apps and other files.
- Performance: The Galaxy A34 has a more powerful processor (the MediaTek Dimensity 1080) and 6GB of RAM as standard. This gives you faster performance on your phone. You’ll also get 5G included as standard, giving you access to faster download speeds in a 5G coverage area.
- Power: Like the Galaxy A14, the Galaxy A34 also has a long-lasting 5,000mAh battery. On top of that, it gains support for Super Fast 25W charging. This means your phone can charge a lot faster if you’re using a compatible charger.
- IP67 Protection: The Galaxy A34 gains an IP67 rating for dust and water protection. This means the phone has been rated for submersion in up to 1 meter of freshwater for 30 minutes.

Samsung Galaxy A54
The Galaxy A54 is the top-end device in the Galaxy A series. It’s available for £22.99 per month at the Carphone Warehouse, with 50GB data per month on iD Mobile. You’ll also get a free pair of Galaxy Buds2 wireless earphones.
Compared to the Galaxy A34, the Galaxy A54 gains a number of additional upgrades:
- Camera: The Galaxy A54 has an even better camera. The main 50-megapixel camera has auto-focus and optical image stabilisation (OIS) capabilities for clear, blur-free photos. It’s then backed by a 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera for outdoor photography and a 5-megapixel macro camera for close-up shots. You’ll also get a 32-megapixel front-facing camera for clearer selfies.
- Design: The Galaxy A54 gains a premium rear glass finish, along with a 6.4″ Infinity-O display. This makes the design a lot more similar to what you’ll find on Samsung’s flagship Galaxy S smartphones.
- Performance: The Galaxy A54 is powered by Samsung’s Exynos 1380 processor. This has a higher clock speed than the Dimensity 1080 processor on the Galaxy A34. You’ll also get 8GB of RAM as standard on the Galaxy A54, giving you better all-round performance.
- Connectivity: Alongside the 5G connectivity, the Galaxy A54 also gains support for Wi-Fi 6 and eSIM technology. Both of these are not available on the Galaxy A34.
