Lyca Mobile Features
No Contract & No Credit Check
On Lyca Mobile, there’s no contract and no credit check required. You’ll just pay for your plan on a one-month rolling basis, in the same way you’d pay for other subscriptions such as Spotify and Netflix.
Because there’s no contract on Lyca Mobile, you can easily change or cancel your plan at any time. For instance, you can move up to another plan with more data or more international minutes included each month. Alternatively, you can move down to a cheaper plan to save some money if you’re not using all of your inclusive allowances.
As the Lyca Mobile service works on a Pay As You Go basis, another benefit is that there’s no chance of running up unexpected charges. That’s because your monthly payment is capped by default. If you’d like to make out-of-allowance calls on your SIM card, you’ll need to top-up with some additional Pay As You Go credit.
4G & 5G Coverage From EE
On Lyca Mobile, you’ll have access to 99% population coverage across the UK. This is powered by the EE network. In addition to the 4G coverage, there’s also 5G coverage in more than 1,000 UK towns and cities (as long as you’re using a 5G-ready device).
If you’d like to check the coverage in your area before ordering a Lyca Mobile SIM card, you can do this by entering your postcode on Lyca Mobile’s online coverage map.
Lyca Mobile has recently improved their EU roaming offer, making it possible for you to use more of your plan allowances at no extra cost when you’re abroad in Europe.
You’ll be able to use your Lyca Mobile plan allowances at no extra cost in the following destinations:
- Czech Republic
On limited data plans, there’s a fair usage limit of 12GB per month or your plan allowance (whichever one is less). Alternatively, if you’re using a Lyca Mobile unlimited data plan, the fair usage limit is 35GB per month in the EU. In addition, there’s a fair usage cap of 2000 minutes and 2000 texts per month.
For more information, see the Lyca Mobile website.
If you’re looking for a faster way to get connected on your ‘All In One’ plan, Lyca Mobile now offers eSIM functionality.
If you choose the eSIM option, there’s no need to wait for a physical SIM card to arrive in the post. Instead, you’ll simply need to scan a QR code on your eSIM-ready phone. You’ll then be connected and you can start using your plan straight away, without the need for a physical SIM card inside your mobile phone.
Lyca Mobile’s eSIM service is compatible with the iPhone 11, the Samsung Galaxy S20, the Google Pixel 3, and later devices. You can see a full list of compatible devices on the Lyca Mobile website. In addition, most eSIM-ready phones will allow you to use dual-SIM with eSIM so you can have two phone numbers on your device at the same time (e.g. both your personal and work phone numbers).
Keeping Your Phone Number
Start by ordering your new All In One plan from the Lyca Mobile website. Once you’ve done that, you’ll need to request a PAC Code from your old network. You can get one through your mobile network’s website or app, or by texting PAC to 65075.
Once you’ve activated your new Lyca Mobile plan, you’ll be able to submit your PAC Code through this page. In most cases, your phone number will be moved over the next working day after you submit this form.
