Lebara Mobile doesn’t currently offer eSIM on their UK plans. Find out more and discover the Lebara eSIM alternatives.
Over the past few years, eSIM technology has become increasing popular in the UK. It allows you to get connected to your mobile network without having a physical SIM card inside your phone. It also eliminates the need to wait for a physical SIM card to arrive through the post, and allows you to use dual-SIM functionality on many modern smartphones.
Although Lebara Mobile is well-known for offering low-cost SIM-only plans in the UK, they unfortunately do not offer these on eSIM at the moment. This means you’ll need to use a physical SIM card in your phone to get access to the Lebara’s UK mobile service.
In this article, we’ll look at the current status of eSIM technology on Lebara Mobile UK. We’ll also look at some of the alternative options if you’re looking to get an eSIM on your mobile phone today.
Lebara UK eSIM
In the UK, Lebara Mobile currently offers a range of SIM-only deals from just £2.50 per month for the first 3 months.
This is available when you enter the KEN3 voucher code at checkout to get 3 months half price on your plan:
Network | Data | Monthly Cost | |
---|---|---|---|
| 5GB data | £2.50 for 3 months, then £5 per month 1 month rolling | See deal |
| 10GB data | £3.50 for 3 months, then £7 per month 1 month rolling | See deal |
| 20GB data | £4.00 for 3 months, then £8 per month 1 month rolling | See deal |
| 30GB data | £4.50 for 3 months, then £9 per month 1 month rolling | See deal |
| 25GB data | £5.00 for 3 months, then £10 per month 1 month rolling | See deal |
| 40GB data | £7.50 for 3 months, then £15 per month 1 month rolling | See deal |
| 50GB data | £10.00 for 3 months, then £20 per month 1 month rolling | See deal |
| Unlimited data | £12.50 for 3 months, then £25 per month 1 month rolling | See deal |

Although these are some of the most competitive SIM-only deals currently available in the UK, they’re only available on a physical SIM card at present. This means you’ll need to wait a few days for a physical SIM card to be sent out through the post. However, you can still use a Lebara SIM card inside a dual-SIM phone, as long as your other plan supports eSIM technology.
As of 2024, Lebara Mobile is still believed to be working on adding eSIM to their mobile service in the UK. As of yet, eSIM isn’t available on any of Lebara’s operated mobile networks around the world so it’s believed that eSIM support is still a fair while away (the only exception to this is Lebara Switzerland, but this is actually run by one of Switzerland’s largest mobile networks under a brand licensing agreement).
When Lebara finally adds eSIM support to their UK mobile service, you’ll be able to transfer your existing Lebara Mobile plan onto a Lebara Mobile eSIM.
Lebara eSIM Alternatives
If you’re looking for a Pay As You Go eSIM with no contract and no credit check, our current recommendation is to get a Lyca Mobile eSIM.
Similarly to Lebara, Lyca Mobile also offers low-cost SIM-only mobile plans. These come with 4G & 5G coverage on the EE network, along with some international minutes for calling other countries. Simply choose the ‘eSIM’ option at checkout and your Lyca Mobile eSIM will be delivered to you instantly by email.
Network | Data | Monthly Cost | |
---|---|---|---|
| 25GB data | £5.00 for 1 months, then £10 per month Instant eSIM 1 month rolling | See deal |
| 50GB data | £7.50 for 1 months, then £15 per month Instant eSIM 1 month rolling | See deal |
| 88GB data | £8.00 Instant eSIM 1 month rolling | See deal |
| 100GB data | £10.00 Instant eSIM 1 month contract | See deal |
| 100GB data | £10.00 for 1 months, then £20 per month Instant eSIM 1 month rolling | See deal |
| Unlimited data | £12.50 for 1 months, then £25 per month Instant eSIM 1 month rolling | See deal |
If you’re looking for an alternative eSIM plan that gives you access to coverage from Vodafone, your only option is currently to get a Pay Monthly SIM card from Vodafone themselves.
On Vodafone, you’ll need to commit to a Pay Monthly contract to get an eSIM. However, this is delivered to you straight away by email so you can get connected immediately. Some of Vodafone’s Basic 4G plans can also be comparable in price to the deals from Lebara Mobile:
Network | Data | Monthly Cost (will rise each April by £1) |
|
---|---|---|---|
| 6GB data | £7.00 Instant eSIM 12 month contract | See deal |
| 40GB data | £8.00 Instant eSIM 12 month contract | See deal |
| 60GB data | £10.00 Instant eSIM 12 month contract | See deal |

Seems there is a plan for Lebara now. Saw below from their homepage. https://www.lebara.co.uk/en/home.html
Does Lebara offer eSIM?
We don’t currently support eSIM, but it is on the roadmap for the end of 2024. Follow us on social media to be the first to hear any updates on eSIM.

Hi Jon,
Many thanks for this. However, that article is only applicable to Lebara Mobile Switzerland, which is actually a franchise of Sunrise (one of the Swiss MNOs). At present, eSIM isn’t available on Lebara Mobile UK, or on any of Lebara’s self-operated networks 🙁
