For students, giffgaff now offers 13GB data for £10/month with access to 5G, no contract & no credit check.

In the UK, giffgaff has just launched their new £10 student golden goodybag. For members with a valid university email address, it gives you a massive 13GB of data for £10/month. This includes access to 4G & 5G coverage from O2 and is available without the need for a contract or credit check.

In this article, we’ll look at giffgaff’s new student golden goodybag. We’ll start by looking at how you can get the student goodybag and what you’ll get included with it. We’ll then look at the other benefits of using giffgaff as a student and how you can keep your current phone number when moving to giffgaff.

Giffgaff Student Goodybag

For students, giffgaff now offers an exclusive £10 student golden goodybag with unlimited minutes, unlimited texts and 13GB of data per month (this is 3GB more than on the normal £10 golden goodybag). You’ll also get access to 5G included, along with roaming in 37 European destinations at no extra cost.

To qualify for the student goodybag offer, you’ll need to order and activate your giffgaff SIM card before the 31st January 2022. You’ll need to use your university email address (ending with .ac.uk) when you sign up for giffgaff and will need to save your payment card details inside your giffgaff account. Once you’ve signed up, you’ll benefit from the increased data allowance for the rest of this academic year (until the 31st July 2022).

If you’re already a giffgaff member, you can still benefit from the student goodybag deal. Just change the email address on your giffgaff account to your university email address (ending with .ac.uk) and it should unlock the £10 student golden goodybag for you.

Giffgaff Features

No Contract & No Credit Check

giffgaff’s £10 student golden goodybag is available with no contract and no credit check. This makes it incredibly easy and hassle-free to sign up for giffgaff, and gives you the flexibility to change your plan each month (e.g. switching to one of giffgaff’s other goodybag plans).

As a student, giffgaff’s no-contract plans are particularly advantageous. This is because you’ll only need to pay for one month’s usage at a time. There’s also no need to build up a credit score before you can get the plan. It’s also possible to pause your plan when required (e.g. you can pause it during the summer holidays if you’ll be away from the UK).

99% Population Coverage

In the UK, giffgaff offers 99% population coverage using the O2 network.

Before you sign up to giffgaff’s student goodybag plan, it’s worth double-checking to make sure you can get coverage where you live. You can check giffgaff’s coverage at both your home address and your term-time address on their website.

To check the coverage in your area, enter your postcode on giffgaff’s online coverage map:

5G Coverage From O2

If you have a 5G-ready phone, you’ll be able to access 5G coverage at no extra cost on giffgaff’s £10 student golden goodybag.

5G technology can give you download speeds that are five to ten times faster than 4G. You can also benefit from a more reliable connection as 5G networks have much more capacity available. In addition, 5G offers lower amounts of latency so you should get a more responsive experience on your phone.

At present, giffgaff offers 5G coverage in the following 193 UK towns & cities:
