Finally, customers wanting an all-purpose unlimited data plan can choose VOXI’s £35 unlimited data plan. This gives you unlimited data without any restriction on the apps and services that you’re able to use it with.
Network | Data | Monthly Cost | |
---|---|---|---|
| Unlimited data Unlimited Social Media Unlimited Music Unlimited Video | £35.00 per month 1 month rolling | See deal |
All of VOXI’s price plans also include unlimited calls, texts and picture messages (MMS).
Pay As You Go Rates
It’s also possible to use VOXI on a purely Pay As You Go basis. This is possible when you opt out of buying the one-month plans. If you do this, your VOXI SIM card will remain active without any regular monthly charges (though you’ll need to use your SIM card at least once every 180 days).
If you’re using VOXI on traditional Pay As You Go, you’ll pay 30p/minute and 14p/text. You won’t be able to use mobile data unless you buy a bundle, though you’ll still be able to use data over wi-fi.
The following table shows VOXI’s Pay As You Go rates:
Calling Rates: | |
---|---|
Voice Calls | 30p/minute (any network, any time) |
Calls to Voicemail | 30p/minute |
Calls to Special Rate Numbers | 45p/minute access charge + service charge from the company you’re calling |
Messaging Rates: | |
Text Message (SMS) | 14p |
Picture Message (MMS) | 45p |
Internet Rates: | |
Mobile Data | Not available until you buy another 30-day bundle. |
If you’d like to call abroad, you can buy VOXI’s £3/month International Minutes Extra add-on. This gives you 100 international minutes for calling 100 destinations from the UK. Alternatively, you can Pay As You Go with international calls available from 1.5p/minute.
We’d recommend against choosing VOXI if you’re looking for a traditional Pay As You Go service without the need to top-up your phone every month. This is because there are far cheaper alternatives out there that will allow you to use mobile data without buying a one-month bundle (e.g. 1pMobile or ASDA Mobile).
VOXI Features
Unlimited Social Media
All of VOXI’s price plans include Unlimited Social Media. This gives you unlimited data for use on the following social media and instant messaging applications:
- Snapchat
- Facebook Messenger
Any data that’s used within the supported apps and websites will not count towards the download limit on your plan.
There are, however, a couple of exceptions to this. Unlimited social media doesn’t include voice or video calls made through Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp or Instagram. Additionally, if you follow a link to an external app or website, this won’t be included within your Unlimited Social Media.
You’ll need to have some of your regular data allowance remaining to benefit from Unlimited Social Media.
Unlimited Music
When you choose a plan on VOXI that costs £12 per month or more, you’ll also get Unlimited Music included at no extra cost. This will allow you to stream your favourite tunes without the need to worry about how much data you’re using.
Unlimited Music covers your data usage from all of the following apps and websites:
- Spotify
- Apple Music
- Amazon Music
- TIDAL
- Deezer
- Napster
- Primordial Radio
It’s worth remembering that VOXI’s Unlimited Music only covers your data usage – it doesn’t include a subscription to the relevant services (where required). You’ll be able to access some of the apps like Spotify and Deezer without the need to subscribe, but some of the others like Apple Music and Amazon Music require a paid subscription after the initial free trial.
Unlimited Video
On selected plans from £15 per month, you’ll also get unlimited video included (this is in addition to the unlimited music and unlimited social media).
Unlimited video gives you unlimited data for streaming online video (such as movies and shows) from the following apps and services:
- TikTok
- YouTube
- Netflix
- Amazon Prime Video
- My5
Like with Unlimited Social Media, data usage within an Unlimited Video app or website will not count towards the download limit on your plan. This includes tethering to some other devices like your phone, laptop or tablet but it doesn’t include tethering to a smart TV, games console or a TV streaming device (e.g. Chromecast, Roku or Fire TV Stick).
Other video streaming services such as BBC iPlayer, NOW and Disney+ are not currently included within the Unlimited Video offer.
Handsets
There are two ways to join VOXI:
- You can get a VOXI SIM card for your existing mobile phone. This is the simplest and easiest way to join the VOXI network. Just order a free VOXI SIM card using this link and slot it inside any unlocked mobile phone.
- You can buy a new smartphone from VOXI. You can buy a mobile phone directly from VOXI (including handsets from Apple, Samsung, Google and more). When you do this, you’ll be given the option to pay for your phone over 30 monthly instalments, with interest-free credit from PayPal. You’ll need to undergo a credit check if you want to pay monthly for your phone.
If your existing mobile phone is locked to Vodafone UK, it should also work without any issues on VOXI.
Network & Coverage
4G & 5G Coverage From Vodafone
VOXI is a low-cost sub-brand of Vodafone. As Vodafone provides the underlying coverage for VOXI, you’ll get access to the same coverage as customers on Vodafone.
At the time of writing, VOXI offers 99% population coverage on their 4G network. In addition, if you have a 5G-ready phone, you’ll get access to Vodafone’s 5G network in 5G areas.
Before you sign up to VOXI, it’s worth double-checking to make sure there’s coverage in your area. You can do this by entering your postcode on VOXI’s online coverage map:
Check VOXI Coverage (voxi.co.uk) →
For more information, see our guide to Vodafone’s UK mobile coverage.
WiFi Calling & 4G Calling
VOXI now offers WiFi Calling and 4G Calling on all of their plans.
- WiFi Calling allows you to call and text, whenever you’re connected to a WiFi network. This means you can stay connected, even in places where a mobile signal isn’t available (e.g. when you’re travelling on the Underground).
- 4G Calling allows you to make and receive phone calls using a 4G connection. It also allows you to benefit from HD-quality calls and gives you faster download speeds when you’re on a phone call.
To use WiFi Calling and 4G Calling on VOXI, you’ll need a device that’s compatible with the service. You can see whether your mobile phone is compatible is by checking the list of compatible devices on Vodafone’s website.
Visual Voicemail
If you’re using an iPhone, you’ll now get Visual Voicemail included on VOXI. This makes it easier to see and manage all of your voicemail messages without the need to dial a voicemail number.
The inclusion of Visual Voicemail is a significant benefit for iPhone users on VOXI. This is because Visual Voicemail isn’t available on rival networks like giffgaff or SMARTY.
Tethering & Personal Hotspot
Tethering or personal hotspot refers to the process of sharing your smartphone’s internet connection with another device. It’s a good way to get mobile broadband on other devices like your laptop or tablet.
On VOXI, it’s possible to tether without any restrictions. Any data usage that’s consumed through tethering or personal hotspot will simply come out of your data allowance as normal. This is confirmed on the benefits page of VOXI’s website:
Personal Hotspot
Turn your VOXI mobile into a personal Wi-Fi hotspot to share your data with other devices.
If your plan includes unlimited social media or unlimited video, this should also cover relevant usage on tethered smartphones, laptops or tablet. However, it won’t cover the data when tethering to other devices like a smart TV, a games console or a TV streaming device (e.g. a Chromecast, Roku or Fire TV Stick).
International Roaming
On VOXI, you can use your mobile phone abroad through international roaming.
- If you’re travelling to one of 49 European destinations (including France, Germany, Italy, Spain and more), you can buy a European Roaming Pass. Prices start from £1 per day when you travel for 8 days (or £2 per day if you travel for a shorter amount of time).
- If you’re travelling to one of 73 worldwide destinations (including the USA, Canada, Turkey, Mexico, Australia and New Zealand), you can buy a Global Roaming Extra. Prices start from £1.87/day when you travel for 8 days, or £1.67/day when you travel for 15 days.
For more information, see our guide to international roaming on VOXI.
Keeping Your Phone Number
If you’re currently on a different mobile network and looking to switch to VOXI, it’s a straightforward process to keep your existing phone number.
To do so, start by ordering your new SIM card from the VOXI website. Once you’ve done so, you can get a PAC Code from your old network. You can get a PAC Code through your mobile network’s website or app, or by texting PAC to 65075.
Once you’ve received and activated your VOXI SIM card, you can submit your PAC Code online through your VOXI account area. Once you’ve done this, your phone number transfer will be scheduled (normally for the next working day).
For step-by-step instructions on how to move your phone number to VOXI, please select your current mobile network from the drop-down menu below:
VOXI Age Limit
Prior to the 4th April 2019, customers had to be under 30 to join the VOXI network. This is no longer a requirement for new customers and customers of any age can now sign up to VOXI.
From September 2017 to May 2018, only customers who were aged 25 or under could join the VOXI. This was expanded to cover customers aged 26 to 30 from May 2018 to April 2019, before the age restriction was removed entirely in April 2019.

I was wanting to try a VOXI sim is a 4G router but after going through it with their customer services, they do not allow it. Their sim is only for use in a phone handset. The terms suggest tethering to one other device only.
So VOXI is no good for home mobile broadband users.
It may be a Vodafone thing as Lebara also does not allow use of their sim in a 4G router. It works for a few minutes, then get blocked by stopping day flow making any website hang.

Voxi charging for passes for the EU and other selected roaming now. I’m sure it’s free to receive so not bad at all. Not sure of the point of the two day pass though? Not sure whether 24 hours or till midnight UK time. Hopefully you’ll update soon Ken. Unfortunately non-EU Voxi passes stay the same unlike Sky who made non-EU in-line with EU
Ken replied:
Hi Amir,
Thanks for this! I believe VOXI have delayed the reintroduction of European roaming charges for now, according to their help centre. I’ll definitely update this information once they start to introduce the charges.
Thanks,
Ken

Got a 45GB free month from Voxi worth £20 included with a Motorola E6 Plus from Argos for £79.99
All good including VPN built into Opera browser worked both on the phone and my PC tethered via phone hotspot.
After the free month on VOXI I chose the 15GB £15 plan with unlimited video… Now I can’t use the VPN built into Opera browser on phone or tethered PC.
Any ideas?
Ken replied:
Hi there,
I’m not aware of any reason why Opera’s VPN won’t work on the £15 plan. In fact, the £20 plan also includes endless video so it’s unlikely this is related to it not working…
