What is Sky Ultimate TV?
In the UK, Sky has launched their new Ultimate TV plan, giving you access to even more entertainment on their flagship TV package.
On the Ultimate TV plan, you’ll now get all of the following included:
- 130+ channels, including Sky Atlantic, Sky One & more. This includes 12 Sky Original channels, spanning entertainment, comedy, crime, arts, documentaries and more. There are also other premium channels like Comedy Central and National Geographic included, plus all of the main UK channels and 90 free-to-air channels.
- Netflix. You’ll get a Netflix ‘Standard with Ads’ subscription included on your Ultimate TV plan. This is worth £5.99 per month. It gives you access to their entire catalogue of shows and movies to watch on-demand, in full HD (1080p) quality.
- Disney+. For blockbuster movies and entertainment for all of the family, you’ll also get a Disney+ ‘Standard with Ads’ subscription included with your Ultimate TV plan. This is worth £5.99 per month. With Disney+, you can stream movies such as Lilo & Stitch, Moana 2, Zootopia 2, Marvel, and more.
- HBO Max. For on-demand access to top US shows like Succession, Game of Thrones, Friends, The Sopranos, and more, you’ll get a HBO Max ‘Basic with Ads’ subscription included in your Ultimate TV plan. This is worth £4.99 per month.
- Hayu. From July, you’ll get Hayu included on Sky’s Ultimate TV plan. In the meantime, they’ve added a taste of the top Hayu shows to their service.
- Discovery+. For real-life entertainment and documentaries, you’ll get inclusive access to Discovery+ with your Ultimate TV plan on Sky. This is worth £3.99 per month.
- Sky Stream box. You’ll get Sky’s latest plug-and-play box, which brings all of your favourite channels and streaming services together into one simple interface. This makes it really easy and seamless to watch all of your favourite shows, without the need to constantly hop between different apps and devices.
Because you’re getting all of this included in one simple package, we think it’s the most hassle-free way to get access to your favourite shows and movies in the UK. It also works out to be pretty good value. In fact, even if you look at just the inclusive streaming services, you’re already getting more than £20 worth of value every month (that’s before you even consider the main Sky TV service and the Sky Stream box).

You can upgrade your Ultimate TV package with Sky’s premium content add-ons: Sky Sports and Sky Cinema.
- Sky Sports: Available from an extra £20 per month, this gives you access to all 9 Sky Sports channels, including the new Sky Sports+. It’s the most comprehensive way of getting live sports on your TV in the UK, as you get 215 live Premier League matches this season, plus every F1 race, every England home cricket match, all 9 Golf majors, and more.
- Sky Cinema: Currently available from an extra £10 per month, this gives you access to the latest blockbuster movies, both on the big screen and on the small screen. Along with the Sky Cinema channels and the on-demand catalogue (including Sky Original movies), you get 2 Vue cinema tickets included every month, plus Paramount+ Basic with Ads (worth £4.99 per month).
There’s also a ‘Whole Home’ add-on that allows you to watch Sky TV in multiple rooms of your home at the same time.
How To Watch Ultimate TV
With Ultimate TV, it isn’t just the channels and the streaming services you get on your plan. There’s also some nifty hardware that brings it together into one interface, giving you a really easy way to access your favourite shows and movies.
You can choose between the Sky Stream box and the Sky Glass TV:
- The Sky Stream box plugs in to your existing TV, giving you access to all of your channels and streaming services over WiFi. It’s 4K-ready and you can easily set it up yourself, with no need for an aerial or for a satellite dish.
- The Sky Glass TV is a 4K television, which has all of Sky’s streaming technology built-in. This is a great option if you’re looking for a new TV: choose between the Sky Glass Air (which is a slimmer and more lightweight option) and the Sky Glass Gen 2 (which has a built-in soundbar and a more premium anodised aluminium design).
Both devices are powered by the Sky OS platform, with an integrated search feature that works across all of your connected channels and apps. It gives you all of your recommended content together in one place, with playlists that combine your favourite shows and movies. It means you don’t need to constantly hop-in and hop-out of different apps, just to find that show you’d like to watch.
