With Sky Stream, you can now get Sky TV without the need for a dish from only £26 per month.

Historically, it’s always been necessary to have a satellite dish if you want to sign up for Sky TV. For many people, this has been a major barrier to getting Sky. For instance, you might not be able to get a satellite dish in your flat, in a rented home, or if you’re living in a listed property or in a conservation area.

Thankfully, it’s now really easy to get Sky TV without the need for a dish. You’ll just need a Sky Stream box and a broadband connection with a minimum download speed of 10Mbps. There’s no satellite dish and no engineer visit required, and it’ll give you all of your entertainment in one place.

In this article, we’ll look at how you can get Sky TV without a dish. We’ll also look at the best Sky TV deals and at some of the benefits you’ll get when you sign up for Sky Stream.

Best Sky TV Deals Without A Dish

In the UK, Sky Stream is Sky’s latest cutting-edge TV service. It’s a newer and a more modern alternative to Sky Q that doesn’t require you to have a satellite dish installed outside your home. Instead, everything gets streamed to your television over a Wi-Fi connection, including both live TV channels and on-demand content.

As it doesn’t require a satellite dish, Sky Stream is also smaller and more power-efficient compared to Sky Q. The hard drive that is used for recordings on Sky Q has been replaced by cloud-based recordings and a new Playlist feature on Sky Stream. Because of this, there’s also no need to worry about recording clashes, or running out of space for storage on your box.

At present, you can get both Sky Entertainment & Netflix from £26 per month on Sky Stream:

Sky TV Features

Simple Setup

With Sky Stream, there’s no need for a satellite dish and no need to hang around waiting for an engineer visit. Instead,  there’s a simple plug-and-play setup. Just order your Sky Stream box online and it’ll normally be delivered to you on the next working day. When it arrives, you’ll just need to plug it in to your TV, before connecting it to your Wi-Fi to start watching.

You’ll need a Wi-Fi connection with a download speed of at least 10Mbps (or 25Mbps if you’re watching in 4K Ultra HD quality). According to Sky, these speeds are available in about 98% of UK homes.

You can use Sky Stream with all UK broadband providers so there’s no need to be a Sky Broadband customer. However, there are some significant discounts available when you take Sky Broadband together with Sky Stream so it might be worth considering a deal that combines the two.

Flexible Plans

You can choose between an 18-month contract and a 31-day rolling contract on Sky Stream. Typically, the majority of customers will choose an 18-month plan as this will give you Sky TV for the lowest possible price. However, the 31-day option can give you more flexibility (e.g. if you were looking to move home in the near future).

The Sky Sports and Sky Cinema add-ons are also available on a choice of 18-month and 31-day rolling plans. Other add-ons such as BT Sport, Sky Kids, Ultra HD & Dolby Atmos, and the Ad Skipping pack come on a 31-day rolling contract as standard. This allows you to easily add or remove them over time.

If you’d like to watch Sky TV in more than one room, you can get the Whole Home add-on for Sky Stream. This costs £12 per month on a 31-day rolling contract and includes your first Sky Stream Puck for free.

Your Entertainment In One Place

The Sky Stream box is powered by Entertainment OS. This brings all of your entertainment together into one place, regardless of which live TV channel or on-demand streaming service it is on.

When you sign up for Sky TV, you’ll get inclusive subscriptions to Netflix, Discovery+, and Peacock. This means you’ll have on-demand access to more than 30,000 shows and movies, along with all of your live TV channels. If you’re a Sky Cinema customer, you’ll also get Paramount+ at no extra cost.

You’ll also be able to connect your Sky Stream box to other on-demand services including BBC iPlayer, ITVX, All4, Apple TV+, Disney+, and more. Once connected, you can simply tell Sky Stream what you’d like to watch and it’ll search across all of your connected apps, services and channels. You’ll also be able to add shows from across the different services to your personalised playlist and will see your recommendations together on the home screen.

Sky Glass TV

If you’re looking for a new TV, you can upgrade your Sky Stream box for a Sky Glass TV. This is a clever 4K Ultra HD television with Sky Inside so there’s no need for a separate Sky Stream box or a satellite dish.

One of the key benefits of Sky Glass is the built-in soundbar that delivers up to 215W of Dolby Atmos surround sound. This puts you right in the middle of the action when you’re watching live sports and the latest movies on your TV. The device also has a 4K Quantum Dot display and is CarbonNeutral certified.

You can get the Sky Glass television in three different sizes: Small (43″), Medium (55″) and Large (65″). You can pay for Sky Glass over 48-monthly instalments at no extra cost. When you do this, it’ll cost £14/month for the Sky Glass Small, £19/month for the Sky Glass Medium and £24/month for the Sky Glass Large.
