Inclusive Streaming with Sky TV
As a Sky TV customer, you’ll get the following streaming services included. This does away with the need to pay a separate subscription fee for them:
- Netflix (worth £6.99 per month): As a Sky Stream customer, you’ll get a Netflix subscription included. This allows you to stream more than 7,000 shows and movies on-demand in HD, including the latest Netflix Originals.
- Discovery+ (worth £6.99 per month): As a Sky Stream customer, you’ll also get Discovery+ subscription at no extra cost. This gives you access to lots of bingeable box sets, eye-opening documentaries, reality TV shows and sports.
- Peacock (exclusive to Sky): Peacock is the US streaming TV service from NBCUniversal. In the UK, it’s available at no extra cost to Sky TV customers, allowing you to stream American TV shows including The Office, Downton Abbey, House, Battlestar Galactica, Keeping up with the Kardashians, and more.
If you’re a Sky Cinema customer, you’ll also get Paramount+ at no extra cost (worth £6.99 per month). This gives you access to a mountain of entertainment including Paramount+ originals such as Yellowstone and Star Trek: Strange New Worlds.
Alongside the inclusive streaming TV services, your Sky Stream box will also connect to catch-up TV services including BBC iPlayer, ITVX, All4 and STV Player. In addition, you can connect it to Amazon Prime Video, Disney+ and Apple TV+ (a separate subscription is required for these services).

Sky TV Features
Stream over WiFi
With Sky Stream, there’s no need for a satellite dish or for an engineer visit to set it up. Instead, you simply need to order your box online and it’ll be delivered to you on the next working day. You then simply need to plug it in to your TV, connect it to your WiFi and you’re ready to start watching.
All of your television content on Sky Stream is streamed over WiFi. This includes your live TV channels, as well as your on-demand content. You’ll need a Wi-Fi connection with a minimum download speed of 10Mbps (or 25Mbps if you’re watching in 4K Ultra HD quality). According to Sky, these speeds are available in about 98% of UK homes.
Playlists & Recommendations
With Sky Stream, you’ll be able to create a playlist of your favourite shows and movies, along with other things you’d like to watch on TV. Your playlists can incorporate live TV content which gets a cloud-based recording, along with on-demand content from across all of your connected apps and services.
You’ll also see personalised recommendations on your Sky Stream box. These recommendations are taken from your live TV channels and from across all of the apps and services on your Sky Stream box. It means you can always discover new things to watch, without the need to go in to different apps to see recommendations.
Smart Search
Sky Stream also features a built-in Smart Search feature that works across all of your live channels and on-demand streaming services.
With Smart Search, you can simply name the show you’d like to watch, or a genre or actor. It’ll then search across all of your connected channels and apps, allowing you to find it wherever it is.
The Smart Search feature also works with the voice control feature. This means you can simply press a button on your remote and say what you’d like to watch on TV.
Flexible Plans
You can choose between an 18-month contract and a 31-day rolling contract on Sky Stream. Typically, most customers will choose an 18-month plan as this gives you Sky TV for the lowest possible price. However, the 31-day option can give you more flexibility (e.g. if you’re looking to move home in the near future).
The Sky Sports and Sky Cinema add-ons are also available on a choice of 18-month and 31-day rolling plans. Other add-ons such as BT Sport, Sky Kids, Ultra HD & Dolby Atmos, and the Ad Skipping pack come on a 31-day rolling contract as standard. This allows you to easily add or remove them over time.
If you’d like to watch Sky TV in more than one room, you can get the Whole Home add-on for Sky Stream. This costs £12 per month on a 31-day rolling contract and includes your first Sky Stream Puck for free.
Sky Glass TV
If you’re looking for a new TV, you can upgrade your Sky Stream box for a Sky Glass TV. This is a 4K Ultra HD television with Sky Inside so there’s no need for a separate Sky Stream box.
One of the benefits of upgrading to Sky Glass is the built-in soundbar that delivers up to 215W of Dolby Atmos surround sound. This puts you right in the middle of the action whenever you’re watching live sports or the latest movies on your TV. The device also has a Quantum Dot display and is CarbonNeutral certified.
You can get the Sky Glass television in three different sizes: Small (43″), Medium (55″) and Large (65″). You can pay for Sky Glass over 48-monthly instalments at no extra cost.
