giffgaff Broadband Deals
In the UK, giffgaff has entered the home broadband market with a range of full fibre broadband plans, starting from £5 per month for the first 6 months.
Powered by Virgin Media’s new full fibre (FTTP) network, all of giffgaff’s broadband plans are flexible so you can move upwards or downwards within their range once a month. Their 24-month plans have no mid-term increases, and their monthly rolling plans have prices locked for the rest of 2026.
As a special offer until the 28th August 2026, you can get giffgaff’s broadband plans for just £5 per month for 6 months (then from £25 per month thereafter). This £5 offer is available when you sign up on one of the following 24-month plans:

There is no landline service (home phone) available on giffgaff – it’s a pure full fibre broadband service.
Monthly Rolling Plans
If you want even more flexibility, giffgaff is one of the few UK providers to offer broadband on a one-month rolling plan. When you choose a one-month rolling plan, there’s no set-up fee. The price you pay for the monthly rolling plans is also locked for the rest of 2026.
The one-month rolling plans are a great choice if you’re looking for lots of flexibility on your broadband (e.g. because you’re renting or studying, and you don’t want to be stuck in a long contract):
| Service | Download Speed | Monthly Cost | |
|---|---|---|---|
![]() Fast 200Mbps (Monthly Rolling) | 200Mbps average download | £29.00 per month No upfront fee 1 month contract | See deal |

giffgaff Broadband Features
Reliable Full Fibre Technology
giffgaff’s broadband service is built on the latest full fibre technology.
Also known as ‘fibre-to-the-premises’ or FTTP technology, it makes use of a fibre optic cable that goes all the way into your home. This is a major upgrade compared to older broadband connections, where copper wiring is often used for the ‘last mile’ to your home.
There are four major benefits when you upgrade to full fibre technology:
- Full fibre gives you access to faster speeds. On giffgaff’s broadband service, you can access speeds of up to 900Mbps. This means you download the latest movies and games in a flash. For instance, it takes less than a minute to download a HD-quality film on a 900Mbps connection.
- Full fibre allows you to connect more devices at a time. You’ll be able to use a lot more devices across your home at the same time, without the connection slowing down for other members of your household. For instance, giffgaff says you can stream ultra-HD movies on up to 4 devices at the same time when you use their 200Mbps plan.
- Full fibre connections are more responsive. With full fibre, there’s a lower amount of latency. This is the amount of time it takes for data to travel from your device to the internet and back. A lower latency connection is more responsive, making it essential for online gaming and other fast-paced apps.
- Full fibre broadband is more reliable. Full fibre (FTTP) is recognised by Ofcom as the UK’s most reliable broadband technology. It does away with the older copper cabling which can be susceptible to noise and interference. This means you won’t experience the issues that can cause slowdowns and connection drop-outs.
No Mid-Term Price Rises
Nowadays, most UK broadband plans have an annual price rise built-in to their terms. This means the cost of your broadband service will automatically increase every year.
On the larger broadband providers, there’s normally an annual price increase of about £4 per month. As you see two prices over the length of a 24-month plan (e.g. in April 2027 and April 2028), the cost of your plan could very quickly increase by an additional £8 per month.
Rather refreshingly, giffgaff’s 24-month broadband service has no mid-contract price rises and this is guaranteed for the entire length of your term. This means the price you pay is the price you actually signed up for.
The price of the plan you choose will not increase during your Minimum Term as long as you remain on the same speed tier plan. If you change plans, including returning to your original plan, the price available for the new plan at the time of the time of the change will apply. Terms and acceptable use policy apply. See giffgaff.com/terms#bb.
Symmetrical Speeds
With many other broadband services, the upload speed on your connection will be just a fraction of the download speed. This is normally referred to as an ‘asymmetric’ service and it means you get slower speeds when sharing files online and using cloud-based backup services.
A major benefit of giffgaff’s broadband service is that you get symmetric speeds. This means you can upload to the internet at exactly the same speed you download. For instance, if you’re on giffgaff’s 200Mbps plan, you’ll have a 200Mbps download speed and a 200Mbps upload speed as well.
Eero Router & App
When you sign up for giffgaff’s broadband service, you’ll be provided with an Amazon eero 6+ router. This is a nifty piece of tech that distributes their connectivity through your home. It supports gigabit speeds (both on wired and on Wi-Fi connections).
According to Amazon, a single eero 6+ device can get up to 75 devices connected to the internet. It has dual-band Wi-Fi 6 technology built-in, covering an floor area of up to 140 sq m.
In addition to this, there’s:
- An eero app for managing your home Wi-Fi network. For instance, you can use it to see who’s online, and to optimise the Wi-Fi signal in your home. There’s also the ability to set up a separate guest wi-fi network.
- Parental controls and Wi-Fi scheduling features. You can set up device profiles for everyone in your family, with custom parental control settings. For instance, you can pause the Wi-Fi at certain times of the day (e.g. after bedtime) on your children’s devices.
- Smart home hub. The eero 6+ contains a built-in smart home hub, allowing you to connect directly to compatible Thread and Zigbee devices.
- Extend your Wi-Fi network with another eero. To extend the range of your home wi-fi network, you can simply buy another eero and link them together. They will then work together using Amazon’s eero TrueMesh technology to give you a seamless Wi-Fi network covering the whole home. For instance, if you added another eero 6+, your Wi-Fi network could cover a total area of up to 280 sq m in total.
Certified B Corp
The ‘B Corp’ movement is a global initiative for businesses that commit to being a force for good. Their member companies make legal commitments to their social and environmental impact, as well as transparency in the way they run their business. This has established it as a key trust mark for consumers seeking an ethical brand.
giffgaff is a certified B Corp with a score of 85.8. This score is based on five main areas: how they treat their customers, colleagues, the community, the environment, and how they run their business.
According to giffgaff, they’ve generated more than £1m worth of charitable donations together with their members. In addition, they’ve committed to using their “broadband product as a force for good”. They’ve done this by funding a nature restoration project in the Peak District to protect the local ecosystem.
Switching to giffgaff Broadband
If you’re currently using another broadband provider, it’s easy to move your broadband service to giffgaff.
With the new One Touch Switch (OTS) system, you don’t even need to contact your old provider to switch. You simply order your new broadband plan from giffgaff and they’ll co-ordinate everything for you. Your old broadband service will be switched off automatically when your new giffgaff broadband connection goes live.
You’ll need two engineer visits to get giffgaff’s broadband service installed in your home. The first visit will bring the fibre connection to your doorstep, and the second one will bring it inside your home. The installation will be carried out by an engineer from Virgin Media O2 (giffgaff’s parent company). That’s because giffgaff’s broadband service is powered by Virgin Media’s full-fibre network. There’s more information on their site that takes you through the entire installation process step-by-step.
