If you’re looking for a SIM-only deal from Vodafone, there are currently four different types of price plan you’re able to choose from. Your choice of the best value plan will depend on things like the amount of data you require, the length of contract you’d like (30 days or 12 months), international roaming capabilities and whether you want inclusive entertainment with your plan.
For instance, Vodafone’s SIM-only deals start from as little as £6/month if you choose a Vodafone Basics price plan. This will give you unlimited minutes, unlimited texts and an allowance of data on a 12-month contract with UK-only usage.
On the other end of the spectrum, Vodafone’s Red Entertainment SIM-only deals start from £22/month and contain up to 100GB of data. You’ll get inclusive roaming in 77 destinations as well as an inclusive entertainment package such as Amazon Prime Video, Spotify Premium, NOW TV or Sky Sports Mobile TV.

SIM Only Deals: By Price Range
In the following section, we’ve compared the Vodafone SIM-only deals available in different price ranges.
If you’re looking for a super cheap SIM-only deal from Vodafone, a variety of options are available from just £6/month on Vodafone Basics. At this price point, you’ll get a plan with unlimited minutes, unlimited texts and an allowance of 4G data. It can only be used inside the UK as international roaming is not available on Vodafone Basics SIM cards.
Vodafone has a number of SIM-only deals from £10/month, including both Basics and Essential price plans. You’ll typically get a larger allowance of data if you choose Vodafone Basics, but the Vodafone Essential plans have some other benefits (e.g. international roaming at no extra cost when you’re travelling in Europe).
You can also get a rolling one-month version of the Essential price plans for a few extra pounds each month.
At the £15 price point, Vodafone offers a selection of Red Extra price plan as follows:
Some additional options may also be available on a 30-day rolling contract. You’ll typically pay between £2 and £7 per month more than the equivalent 12-month plan when choosing a 30-day rolling contract.
Looking at the £20/month price point, Vodafone is offering a selection of Red Extra and Red Entertainment plans.
Of the two, you’ll generally pay a bit more for a Red Entertainment plan but you’ll get some additional benefits like inclusive entertainment. You’ll also get inclusive roaming in 29 additional destinations outside of Europe along with 500 international minutes for calling other countries.
Price Plans & Features
If you’re looking for a low-cost SIM-only deal that “includes only the things you use every day”, Vodafone offers a choice of three Basics price plans from only £6/month. All Basics price plans include unlimited minutes, unlimited texts and an allowance of data (e.g. 6GB of data for £10/month at the time of writing).
On Basics, you’ll get the exact same coverage as other customers on Vodafone, but some lesser-used features will not be available on the SIM card. For instance, a Basics SIM card cannot be used outside the UK. Additionally, things like international calls, premium-rate calls, MMS picture messages and 3G video calls are barred on the service.
Vodafone Basics is only available to new customers, and must be purchased through a page on Vodafone’s website.

If you’d like greater flexibility compared to what is available on Vodafone Basics, the Essential price plans from Vodafone could also be worth a look.
Compared to Vodafone Basics, you’ll gain the ability to use your mobile phone outside the UK (including in 48 European destinations at no extra charge). You’ll also be able to call premium-rate and international phone numbers, and there’s the option to take the Essentials plan on a one-month rolling contract.
Red Extra Plans
If you choose a Vodafone Red Extra SIM-only deal, you’ll get unlimited minutes and unlimited texts included in your plan. You’ll also get a monthly data allowance of up to 100GB along with inclusive roaming in 48 European destinations.
12 month contracts
Red Entertainment Plans
Vodafone’s flagship price plan is their Red Entertainment plan. Available on a 12-month SIM-only contract, the unique selling point is you’ll get an inclusive entertainment subscription with your plan. This inclusive entertainment subscription can either be to Amazon Prime Video, Spotify Premium, NOW TV or Sky Sports Mobile TV.
With Red Entertainment, you’ll also get 500 inclusive international minutes and roaming at no extra charge in 77 destinations (including Europe, the USA, Canada, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand and more). You’ll also get all the other features that are included on a Red Extra plan.

Keeping Your Phone Number
If you’re switching from another mobile network to a Vodafone SIM-only deal, it’s a straightforward process to keep your existing phone number.
To do so, start by contacting your old mobile network and asking them for a PAC Code. This is a nine-digit code that authorises the transfer of your phone number to Vodafone.
Once you’ve obtained a PAC Code from your current network, order your new SIM card from the Vodafone website (Vodafone Basics or non-Vodafone Basics plans). After your new SIM card arrives in the post, place it inside your mobile phone and then provide the PAC Code to Vodafone. They’ll schedule the transfer of your phone number, normally for the next working day.
