Lyca Mobile is offering 88GB data, plus unlimited minutes to China, Hong Kong & the UK for £8 per month.

In the UK, Lyca Mobile has launched a new 88GB SIM card offer to welcome in the Lunar New Year.

With their new ‘Triple Fortune’ SIM card, you’ll get a massive 88GB of data for £8 per month with no contract, no credit check & access to EE’s 5G network. You’ll also get unlimited minutes for calling China and Hong Kong, plus unlimited UK minutes, and 100 international minutes for calling other selected destinations. There’s also inclusive EU roaming.

In this article, we’ll look at Lyca Mobile’s latest Chinese New Year offer and how you can benefit from their 88GB for £8 deal. We’ll also look at the features available on your Lyca Mobile SIM card and how you can keep your current phone number when you switch their network.

88GB for £8 Deal

To mark the beginning of the Wood Dragon year, Lyca Mobile has launched a new £8 Triple Fortune SIM card in the UK.

For just £8, you’ll get 88GB data per month on this SIM card. You’ll also get unlimited UK minutes & texts, plus unlimited minutes for calling China & Hong Kong. There are also 100 international minutes for calling other selected destinations.

This deal is available on a 30-day rolling basis, with no contract and no need for a credit check.

Lyca Mobile Features

No Contract & No Credit Check

There’s no contract and no credit check required on this deal. Instead, you’ll just pay on a 30-day rolling basis, in the same way you’d pay for other subscriptions like Spotify and Netflix.

Because there’s no contract, you can easily change or cancel your plan at any time. For instance, you can move up to another plan that gives you more data (e.g. Lyca Mobile’s unlimited data plan). Alternatively, you can move down to a cheaper plan to save some money. However, you won’t be able to go back to the Triple Fortune offer, if you’ve already switched away to another deal.

Another benefit of Lyca Mobile’s Pay As You Go service is the fact that there’s no chance of running up unexpected charges. That’s because your monthly payment is capped by default. If you’d like to make out-of-allowance calls, you’ll need to top-up with some additional Pay As You Go credit.

4G & 5G Coverage From EE

On Lyca Mobile, you’ll have access to 99% population coverage across the UK. This is provided by the EE network. In addition to their 4G coverage, there’s 5G coverage available in more than 1,000 UK towns and cities (as long as you’re using a 5G-ready device).

If you’d like to check the coverage in your area before you order a Lyca Mobile SIM card, you can do this by entering your postcode on Lyca Mobile’s online coverage map.

European Roaming

You’ll be able to use your plan allowances at no extra cost in Europe (up to a maximum of 12GB data per month). This can save you a significant amount of money when you travel abroad to Europe.

The following destinations are included with Lyca Mobile’s EU roaming offer:

  1. Austria
  2. Belgium
  3. Bulgaria
  4. Croatia
  5. Cyprus
  6. Czech Republic
  7. Denmark
  8. Estonia

You’ll also be able to use your data abroad at no extra cost in India.

eSIM

If you’re looking for a faster way to get connected, you can get the Triple Fortune offer on an eSIM from Lyca Mobile.

If you choose the eSIM option when you order your plan online, there’ll be no need to wait for a physical SIM card to arrive in the post. Instead, you can just scan a QR code on your eSIM-ready phone. You’ll then be connected to their network and you can start using your plan straight away. This saves you time, and it’s better for the environment.

Lyca Mobile’s eSIM service is compatible with the iPhone 11, the Galaxy S20, the Google Pixel 3, and later devices. You can see a full list of compatible devices on the Lyca Mobile website. In addition, most eSIM-ready phones will allow you to use dual-SIM with eSIM so you can have two phone numbers on your device at the same time (e.g. both your personal and work phone number).

Keeping Your Phone Number

If you’re switching to Lyca Mobile from another UK network, it’s a straightforward process keeping your current number.

To start off, order your 88GB for £8 SIM card on Lyca Mobile’s website. Once you’ve done that, you’ll need to request a PAC Code from your old network. You can get one through your mobile network’s website or app, or by texting PAC to 65075.

Once you’ve activated your new Lyca Mobile plan, you’ll be able to submit your PAC Code through this page. In most cases, your phone number will be moved over the next working day after you submit this form.

For a step-by-step guide on how to transfer your phone number to Lyca Mobile, please select your current mobile network from the drop down menu below:
