March 28th, 2014
The Galaxy S5 is now available for pre-order in the UK. We compare prices from the UK’s largest mobile networks: EE, O2, Three and Vodafone.
Earlier today, Samsung opened the pre-orders for their latest flagship smartphone: the Galaxy S5. With a larger 5.1-inch display, dust-proof and water-proof capabilities and a perforated back cover for a modern and glam look, the new smartphone is likely to continue the ongoing popularity of Samsung’s Galaxy S series. Other new upgrades include a 16-megapixel camera with faster auto-focus, a heart rate monitor for tracking your exercise and a new fingerprint scanner for securing the data on your handset.
You’re now able to place a pre-order for the Galaxy S5. It’s likely to ship around April 10th when it will go on general release around the UK. In this article, we compare Galaxy S5 prices across the UK’s networks. Find out which network offers the best deal and discover the special offers currently available on the handset.
Cheapest Deals: At A Glance
At a glance, here’s the cheapest tariff on each of the four networks:

Our Recommended Network: EE
EE is our recommended network for pre-ordering the Galaxy S5. For £37.99/month plus £49.99 upfront, you’ll get 1000 minutes, unlimited text messages and 2GB of 4G internet every month. Compared to O2, it’s £20 more expensive but there are a number of key benefits that make EE our preferred deal.
First of all, EE has a special promotion where you’ll get a free return flight to Europe with Galaxy S5 pre-orders. You can fly to a choice of 12 destinations with flights available until February 2015 (certain blackout dates apply e.g. bank holidays and during the Christmas break). The flight fare, taxes and surcharges are all paid by EE. The promotion is only available if you pre-order the handset through EE’s website.
Other benefits of choosing EE are four times more data compared to O2 (2GB vs 500MB), access to EE’s double-speed 4G network (download speeds of up to 60Mbit/s) and EE Film (2-for-1 cinema tickets every Wednesday; like the old Orange Wednesday promotion).
